The water was luke warm, allowing me to float on top of the water in peace. No waves, no noise just a beautiful serene island and Niall. I float like a star fish gazing up at the blue sky, that today had not a cloud in it.
The water pushed me further and further into shore. Until I lay on the sand, letting the waves crash onto my body. It had been four days since my wedding, and I still couldn’t get that girl out of my head. Her face branded into my brain, her scream on replay in my head. How it must have felt for her to take her last few breathes in front of a monster. Who probably stared her down with his yellow, sinister eyes.
“Naomi? Are you okay?” Someone shook me, as the waves continued to crash around me. It probably looked like I had drowned and been washed up to shore, so for his sake I open my eyes.
“Yes?” The sun burnt my eyes when I opened them, the light searing through my eyelids almost blinding me.
“I could’ve sworn you were dead. Don’t do that to me ever again!” His body moved so he made a shadow protecting me from the sunlight. I could now see him probably. He was shirtless, with a pair of white board shorts his hair flicked in all different directions. He was like an angel, the angel that will always catch me when I’m falling. My saviour.
“Niall.” I laughed, pulling him down so I could kiss him “You worry too much.”
He gave me a dangerous look “I’m just not losing my wife after four days…” He said wrapping his arms around my waist and pulling me up right.
I laughed, resting my head on his shoulder. “Okay, Okay I won’t do that again!”
“That’s right, I win.” His arms tightened and I could hear the smile in his voice
“Never. I will always win!” I laughed, punching him jokingly in the stomach.
“What makes you so sure? He nudge me.
“Because I’m Naomi… I’m Naomi Horan!” I announced
He gave me a shocked face “You were about to say Fitzaberg weren’t you” He teased
“No…” I shook my head furiously “I totally remembered I was part of the Horan family.” I argued
“Alright…” He eyed me, laughing. “Come on let’s go before you turn into a tomato, all because you were out here all day.”
We walked back to the little lodge we had been staying at, hand in hand. When we reached the front door, I realised that their tucked underneath the door mat was a white piece of paper. With ‘Naomi’ scribbled on the front of it. I carefully reached forward, and hesitantly open it.
“We warned you that your life is going to be perfect ever. Here’s or price, to be left alone. Leave Niall and your children and we will leave you alone. Move back to Australia we will leave you alone. Do these things and we will leave you be.”
It's a bit shorter than usual. Hope you like it =D
