Taylor's POV
I'm Taylor Quartz.
I'm a girl with a perfect life. Big House. Rich family. Popularity. I'm ultimately gorgeous. I'm not bragging nor be sarcastic, I'm just born this way. ( Cue Lady Gaga Born this Way song) If you can't picture me, I have perfect, silky brown hair, big brown eyes, and an amazing figure. Who wouldn't want to date me? Some boys and girls just pretend to be friends with me to be popular. Yup, that ruined the perfection. I really only have one true friend who doesn't treat me like dirt. The one and only, Lizzie.
Lizzie's POV
I'm Lizzie Peige.
The girl who has an unlucky life. I'm not rich. My family is in middle class. I am not as pretty as the others. I am the nerdy girl on the honor roll who doesn't have much friends. I have dirty blonde hair and brown eyes. I'm pretty skinny, I guess. I am not a girl who has boys following her. I wear glasses which makes my nerd bar go higher. I'm lucky enough to have Taylor as a friend.
I have a scholarship in The Bright Arts of Knowledge Private High school. So I guess I'm pretty lucky. I used to get bullied a lot at freshman year in my old public school. Mean girls and boys kept saying I didn't fit in or didn't belong. Some even played mean pranks like throwing water balloons filled with paint at me. The principal didn't even care. The next day, a mean girl named Marisa was about to dump her coffee at me. Until, the most popular girl in the entire public school, Taylor Quartz came and yelled stop. I remembered her words perfectly.
Flashback
"If you dare mess with Lizzie again, I swear I'll make your parents get fired and make your snotty little family live on the streets!" She yelled. All the meanies obeyed and walked away scared. But Marisa didn't exactly believe Taylor and poured her coffee on me. She cackled as Taylor took out her phone and talked to someone. Soon, Marisa was taken away by Taylor's guards, screaming and regretting what she has done. Taylor smirked and held out her hand. I took as she said "Let's get you cleaned up." I nodded and followed Taylor to the school infirmary. The next day, we found out that Marisa was expelled.
I guess many didn't know that Taylor's dad was the most powerful man in America. That's why Taylor recommended BAOKPS, where bullying didn't exist.
We may seem like complete opposites but, we seem to be destined to be friends. I used to think back in the old days that I would never have true friends, it's funny how life can change that.
I'm going to be walking to Frozen Cow with Taylor as our last few weeks of summer celebration. Frozen Cow has the best ice cream in California. It's way better than Dairy Queen! There aren't many FC's around the country so not a lot of people go here for ice cream. They're too focused on the too sweet ice cream DQ has. That's why we made FC our place.
I'm wearing a red knitted sweater, denim shorts, red knee high socks, black converse, and a black beanie. As you can probably tell, I'm very conservative. I only wore shorts since it's hot. I put my hair to a side braid and added a bow. I looked into the mirror and noticed I can't see very well.
"Ah, I forgot to wear my glasses." I said to myself chuckling. I grabbed my glasses and carefully put them on. I heard the door bell ring. I rushed down the stairs to see Taylor who's already inside.
"Don't worry, Liz! I only snuck in the window!" Taylor said faking her smile hinting I took so long to go to the door.
Taylor was wearing a turquoise tie tee shirt, high waisted shorts, neon blue sunglasses, and white converse.
"How can you be so, confident? How can you even wear that outfit? I heard some people are confident because they had a traumatic experience. Did you?" I asked like a curious seven year old. She chuckled and smiled.
"Well, you don't have to have a traumatic experience to be confident. You just have to be proud of yourself and know what your doing." She replied.
Sometimes, Taylor really confuses me. She always made expectations wrong, yet says it so simply without thinking of what to say. She's only 17 yet she's as wise as a 200 year old Chinese martial arts master.
As people expect, popular people are dumb and obsessed with partying. But Taylor, is popular and has straight A's. The lowest she's ever gotten was an A-. I usually get A's and a couple B's.
Ugh, Taylor's so perfect. I always stammer in every conversation I have. Even with my parents! But with Taylor, I can actually speak. Taylor can just straight on talk to a stranger without making things awkward. No wonder she's so popular.
When we walked out of the door I turned to face Taylor.
"Tay, when the life controller controls my life, he or she makes it so bad and unlucky. When he or she controls your life, he makes it perfect. Why does he or she hate me?" I asked. She laughed at my question and took off her sunglasses.
"Sigh. Liz, you make me laugh. There's no such thing as a life controller. It's all about choices. For example, a rebellious teenager asks you to go to a beer party. If you say yes, you may end up as a slutty bimbo. If you say no, you become normal, but try to convince yourself to regret not coming, even if you made a good decision." She replied.
We went inside the frozen cow and ordered. I had a mini banana split and Taylor had an ultimate chocolate sundae with chocolate everything.
A recognizable guy was walking by and stopped at our table. She just rolled her eyes.
"Taylor, I have been liking you for a while now. The way you giggled sent shivers down my spine. The way you smiled was beautiful." He said to Taylor. He took out his guitar and started singing Just the way you are by Bruno Mars.
"Will you please go out with me?" He asked with hope when he finished.
"Who are you again?" Taylor asked meanly.
"Richard from science, remember?" He replied nicely.
Oh! I remember him now! Richard was a cute, tall brown haired basketball player who was crushing on Taylor for three years. Aw... That was so sweet.
"You're ruining my appetite. Sorry but... No! Now go back to your stupid little group. Who thought that you are weird enough to only spend time with Brett and Evan. BTW, Bruno Mars is so last season." Taylor said while yawning. Richard's eyes were watering as he walked away in sadness. Poor Richard.
200 year old Chinese grand master disappears when it comes to boys. Did I ever tell you that a kind girl like Taylor, was the Heartbreaker of the school?
