I was walking my way to school. I had my earbuds in and my music blasting in my ears loudly. People who were around me could definitely hear it, but I didn't care.
I wore a plain white shirt along with a yellow hoodie and black pants. I was almost at school and just had to pass a crosswalk, when I stopped to see a man in a bright pink hoodie, taking a drag of a vape. I could smell the pungent flavor of strawberries with each drag he took and blew.
It seemed like the light only had one color today. Red. I took several glances at the kid in pink and he would only stare straight ahead. When the light finally turned green he walked ahead and I just looked at him like a perv but soon snapped back into reality before the light could changed again.
...
I had finally made it to school only to miss the tardy bell by a second. I took out my earbuds and the teacher gave me a disappointed look but continued to talk about whatever. I laid my head down not even paying attention to who's sitting right next to me.
"Like I was saying, we have a new student." I heard some movement from right next to me and out of curiosity I looked up to see the man in pink. "Please welcome John K." the guy waved lazily and looked around the room untill his eyes fixed on me. I probably looked really discussing now since he sees my full face, but he doesn't make a face, or laugh, or point it out but smiles lightly and says "Hi."
I don't know why but it felt like there was something weird with the atmosphere, like the mood of the classroom had all change. People would usually whisper or pick on people who were new but everyome went quiet. It was one of the most awkward things that had happend in this classroom and everyone could feel it.
The guy, John, took a seat next to me simce that's were he was sitting before and looks forward towards the teacher.
The whole classroom has differently changed ever since John was here. People would already talk to him and he would easily make friends. Hell, even some girls would hit on him.
I was finally at the end of class and I stood uo to put on my book bag. I usually leave as soon as the bell rings but a slip of paper that laid on my desk got my attention. I picked it up and read it. I read it again and again and still do at home. It had a phone number on the bottom of the slip of paper along with a message.
Pop music is the best. Right?
