Kick Off.

It was currently 4:17pm and I was sweating my ass off at the soundcheck. We had been playing the acoustic songs and the boys were rehearsing their choice songs.

Once we played through a few more songs and we got to Kiss You, we ran into “problems” that the sound guy couldn’t let go. He was saying that my guitar and the bass guitar were too loud and every time we adjusted the volume level and started the songs over, he would say it again.

I know that I’m not one of the professional sound guys and it wasn’t my job to tell them when the amp volumes were fine, but I did play guitar for most of my life. The sound levels for all of the amps that we were using were perfectly fine, so I don’t understand what the guy was stressing about.

About a half hour later, we were almost done with the set and then the boys started to have microphone problems. I set my guitar down on the stand and I decided to starfish on the ground at the back of the stage while they tried to fix the microphones.

After 20 minutes of adjusting the microphones and playing the final song, I was free to go start to get ready for the concert. I knew there wasn’t really a point for me to shower before the concert, so I made sure to run to Lou and see if she could quickly do my hair.

While I was in there with her, she decided she’d do my makeup as well since I was basically the same skin tone as Niall (I don’t get out in the sun much). The boys were off doing some other part of their soundcheck that didn’t include any of the band members which made me extremely grateful.

“So, which boy is your favorite?” she asked. I looked at her in the mirror to see a mischievous smile on her face.

“I don’t believe in favorites. I will like each boy equally until I’m given a reason not to,” I replied, smirking.

“You don’t believe in favorites, hm? I’ll keep that in mind until you’re dating one of them.”

“Hey now, I’ve only known them for barely 3 days. If you think I’d get into a relationship with one of them this early on, you’re nuts.”

“Whatever you say, Riley. I just know that with their charming ways, you will most likely fall for one of these boys sooner or later,” she stated before laughing.

I was about to reply when one of the boys from the opening act walked in the room. I didn’t realize who they were at first, so I was gladly not in full on fan girl mode. All he needed was a little touch up on his makeup since his stylist was busy fixing someone else’s makeup.

After he walked out of the room, Lou and I stopped talking about the boys. It was actually pretty quiet in the room until Zayn came running in, holding a little girl in his arms. She had short blonde hair and she looked like she was about 2. I recognized her from pictures of the boys that I had on my computer from my insane directioner phase.

This was the famous Baby Lux.
