A very dark tragedy occurring in your character's family, kept a secret from everyone. The secret, however does not die with the bearers. It reappears again and again through the following generations' lives, as dreams, hallucinations, imaginary friends and awful coincidences—like a ghost that perpetually haunts the family.
It usually occurs in the case of a hidden child, adultery, death, incest, cults.
