Letting Go

"It's kind of quiet in here." Claudia stated as she walked into Red Bedroom Records wearing a long black paisley skirt and a grey vest, she also had necklaces hanging down her neck. Her hair was still black and it was poker straight, her bangs were held back with bobby pins. She had little makeup on and she was holding onto her handbag.

"Yeah, Mia had a couple of gigs left on the schedule, but the label really loves that new song I sent." Peyton explained and Claudia looked at her in disbelief.

"Another one? Geez, that's girl's been a writing machine since she hooked up with Chase." Claudia laughed in her english accent.

"True, but the song they're really crazy about is "Karma" by Claudia Scott." Peyton replied and Claudia looked at her grinning.

"Dude, you totally thudded me!" Claudia exclaimed as she playfully nudged her best friend. Peyton must have got that from Lucas when he submitted Peyton's artwork when they were in Junior Year.

"Right. I'm sorry. I didn't know I wasn't supposed to be promoting your career." Peyton muttered sarcastically and Claudia just a laughed a little before she got very worried.

"Well, it depends on what they said." Claudia muttered worried, she really hoped they like it.

"Uh, they said... they want more. And they're really excited about the new promotional angle." Peyton grinned. Claudia had more but she didn't know if they were as good as Karma.

"Which is what, exactly?" Claudia asked her confused because she didn't think mum and ex-english teacher was going to be a big promotional angle.

"The singing maverick teacher that punched out the principal and slept with a student." Peyton replied and Claudia looked at her astonished. I mean one of it was partly true but they were the same age and they didn't sleep together until they were married.

"I never hit anyone. And that other thing was seven years ago. I was a tutor." Claudia corrected and Peyton just nodded her head.

"Oh, okay. Sorry, I had to stretch it a little bit. How's the new stuff coming?" Peyton asked grinning and Claudia didn't give Peyton the most convincing face.

"It's coming slowly." Claudia answered and Peyton walked closer towards her. Claudia was just amazed that her body still looked good even though she was pregnant. Claudia didn't look that skinny when she was pregnant.

"Why?" Peyton asked and Claudia just shrugged.

"'Cause I keep thinking I should be in third-period English and wondering how my kids are doing." Claudia sighed, she missed her students a lot.

Claudia was sitting at her piano playing her new song, Letting me Down, she wanted to make sure it was perfect before sending it to Peyton, so she could see if was good enough to record. Once she was finished, she saw Sam and Jack standing in her living room.

"Sam, Jack, what are you guys doing here?" Claudia asked confused as she stood up and walked over to them.

"Oh, we wanted to see you." Sam lied and Claudia looked at them bemused.

"How did you get in?" Claudia asked them.

"I'm good with windows." Sam smirked and Claudia sighed a little.

"Why aren't you guys in school?" Claudia asked sternly but she knew Sam and Jack could see right through her.

"Rimkus kicked us out." Jack answered and Claudia knew Principal Rimkus would have done something like that. She felt bad for them, she honestly did.
