The name is Cynthia. As of 2018, I had lost all of my hair to alopecia around five years ago. Still to this day, I'm struggling to accept it, but I am now, 18 years old, more confident than I ever was.
What is Alopecia? You may ask me. Alopecia is a sickness where the body fails to recognize hair as a part of the body and starts attacking it, destroying the hair (not to mix up with the bulb, the hair bulb still present, but covered in skin.) It's related to the baldness men have around their 50s and touch only two percent of the world's population, mostly children and women. The cause of this 'sickness', sickness being a heavy word to describe it, it's basically only hair loss, is unknown but can be related to heavy stress or mental disorders. I started loosing my hair a few months before I turned 14, and it was a big deal for me at that time. I made this story to mostly do some awareness. Not that I hope this will blow up, or give me anything to write this but it's a project I had in mind for so long.
I hope you laugh, cry, smile and most importantly, enjoy this story.
With love,
Cynthia V.
