The light shining through my window the next morning had a bright and welcoming look, topped off with a crisp feel to it. I stretched and tried to remember the previous night, but all I could reminisce was absolute incoherent nonsense.
I rolled around in my sheets for a while longer falling in and out of sleep. I heard the car start outside at one point. My mom must have had work or something.
I eventually woke up, but lied in bed just staring at the ceiling. I thought I heard something going on in the house, but it would go away every so often. It sounded like the pitter patter of a toddler's foot steps.
Eventually I got up to investigate, but after walking around the house for a moment, everything seemed very quiet. I wandered into the bathroom and began brushing my teeth, but just as I finished I heard the noise again. This time louder, as though something ran past just outside the door.
I spat and rinsed, quickly drying my face before opening the door and glancing out of it nervously. Everything was silent once again. The whole house had a reassuring calm to it, and I eventually took a deep breath and started walking down my hall, back towards my room. All of the sudden, I heard a sound like something hitting the ground and spilling all over the place. I jumped. It came from the kitchen, which was just down the hall from me.
Gathering my confidence, I wandered back towards the kitchen, shaking with each step. When I finally made it into the kitchen, I scanned the floor slowly before spotting a box of fallen cereal lying heaped amongst the floor in a pile of it's own content.
With a sigh, I wandered into the kitchen and picked it up, making sure to save any of the cereal that hadn't quite made it out of the box just yet. The rest of the pile, I swept and disposed of into the garbage.
After that, I turned to put the cereal back on top of the fridge where it belonged, only stopping for a moment to wonder how it fell in the first place.
"FUCK" , I yelped, seeing a face poking out from over the edge of the fridge.
"Bad?" It accused quietly, it's round, yellow eyes filled with curiosity.
I shook for a moment, trying to catch my breath as I peered up at the cat eared boy laying atop my fridge.
I reached up to him for a moment. "Get down from there!"
He blinked.
"Spspspspsssst, here kitty kitty"
Toby crawled down a bit to sniff my hand that I'd put near him, trying to lure him down. I ceased the opportunity and pulled him down, being sure not to hurt him.
He squirmed around in my arms a bit before I put him down. after touching the ground, he started brushing up against my leg, purring loudly.
I sighed and scratched his head, taking the cereal over to the counter. I thought for a moment before pouring it in a bowl with some milk and putting it on the table. I grabbed myself a spoon and sat down, taking a small bite.Toby was practically buzzing around me. He'd sat on the floor aside of me and had been looking up at me with puppy dog eyes. He pawwed at my hand a bit, so I brought the spoon down to his level, in which he lapped at the spoon.
I giggled before taking a bite myself. "Kitty likes milk, huh?"
I picked him up and sat him on my lap so his knees were facing outward on my thigh, so I could see his cute lil face while holding him by the waste. I continued to feed him cereal, barely eating any myself.
Once it was all gone, he nuzzled my cheek softly, a deep purr rising from his petite frame. I blushed, nuzzling back.
He was too cute in that moment. I just had to kiss him. Leaning him back a bit, I kissed his neck softly. He made a cute noise and blushed deeply. I sat him on the table in front of me, holding him by the waste as I looked up into his eyes.
