So I waited. I waited the entire night. I went to work the next day, just wishing she'd walk in the door. Her smile alone would light the place up. That's what I could use right about now. If I'm completely honest, my boss is an asshole. I mean really, you wouldn't think working in a restaurant was as stressful as he made it. We hardly get any business anyway. Regardless, I need it. I can't live with no money, right? Plus, the people who do come in here tend to tip well. I kept repeating her words in my head. Her smile lit up my mind.

"Daydreaming, are you?" I heard her say. I had a wide stupid smile on my face and I opened my eyes. She was standing there, right infront of me.

"Yeah, you were distracting me. What are you doing here?" I asked her, genuinely curious.

"I saw you from the window over there." She grinned at me. "I figured I should return the favour."

"To tell the truth, I was wishing you'd show up."

"Well then it must have been your doing that I ran out of hairspray this morning." She smiled and we both laughed. "What time are you done here?" She turned her head slightly as she asked and it was cute as hell.

"In about an hour."

"I'll wait then." She smiled and then took a seat over in the corner, pulling a book out of her purse.

I leaned on the counter watching her for the majority of the hour. She had on this incredibly cute pair of black knee socks, as well as black shorts to go with them. She was also wearing a blue button up shirt with white polka dots. I really did love her fashion sense.  Only a few people came in after her. I was soon finished work and I changed into my street clothes before walking over to her. She looked up from her book and smiled.

"Ready to go?"

"Sure, lead the way." I smiled back in response.

We were soon both on our feet and walking out the door, to the street.

"Were you born here?" I asked her out of the blue.

"No, I moved here recently."

"Recently? What brought you to Toronto?"

"I'm not too sure. It seemed like a nice place.  So far it's been good to me." She smiled gently.

"Well I'm incredibly glad you've made your way here. Where exactly are we going, anyway?" I asked realizing we never did discuss that.

"My house, if you don't mind." She continued to smile.

"Not at all. " I thought for a moment. "Are you hungry?"

"I'm fairly hungry, yeah." She said after taking a moment to think about it.

"Alright, lets stop off at the grocery store then." I said and started to head towards one at the corner.

We walked through the grocery store as I picked up a few things to cook with. We left afterwards and eventually made our way to her place. She lived in an appartment building, 21 floors up. It was a properly beautiful place. Two bedrooms, one of them converted to an office. The main room had windows all over, the balcony was fairly large, and the kitchen was sizeable as well. She showed me around.

"Well, what do you think of it?" She asked after her tour.

"I think it's amazing." I told her while looking out the window.

"It's a little large for just myself. I don't ever get much company." She said looking out to where I was looking.

"Well you can have me over whenever you like." I turned to her and smiled.

"Good, I might make you regret that statement with how often I'll invite you over. At least until I have new friends." She said playfully and winked at me.

"Of course." I agreed jokingly as well.

I began to cook. I set the table and cooked as well. She constantly tried to help me, but I didn't let her do any of the work. I quite enjoyed cooking. Especially for other people. I plated and served it, then we sat down. I watched as she took the first bite and her face lit up

"This is phooking amazing." She said excitedly.

"Seriously?"

"The best pasta I've ever had. How did you learn to cook like this? I can't cook for shit, you'll have to teach me."

"Alright. My sister taught me." I smiled gently.

"I'll have to thank her for that." She smiled and continued to eat.

"Maybe you can one day." I began to eat.

"I would love to. So where do you live?" She said between bites.

"Oh, just a small flat downtown. Nothing special really."

"And you live all alone? What about your parents? If you don't mind me asking, I mean." She turned her head slightly like she did earlier.

"Well I used to live with my mother, but I was thrown out. " I said like it was nothing. It really wasn't much, if I'm honest.

"Oh." She took a moment. "Well my parents let me move here. They give me a lot of money and all that. If you ever need anything then just let me know. Unless your pride is in the way, of course." She smiled.

"Thank you." I said and continued to eat. We finished eating and I picked up the plates, bringing them to the sink and started washing them.

"Where have you been all my life?" She asked me jokingly.

"Well I think I've been waiting for you, to be honest." I smiled at her happily, looking into her eyes.
