Damien once again was late for breakfast,  his parents didn't bother going upstairs,  to the room,  to wake him up,  neither they asked the servants to do it,  knowing his son would be downstairs in a few minutes,  if not yelling at his sister,  being all grumpy and tired.

By the other hand,  Damien was comfortable on his bed,  the curtains were moved,  the sunlight coming in the room from the big window,  Damien was awake,  he wasn't feeling moody like the 16 year old teenager he was.  He was just numb that day.

He didn't like important dates,  or family dinners,  or meetings,  knowing people only came to see him and offer him the hand of their daughters.  However,  Damien wasn't looking forward to a relationship,  not yet at least.

He moved on his side,  staring at his phone,  he sighed in annoyance when he heard the distant yell of his sister,  Kenny,  yelling his name from across the hall.  Knowing she would storm into the room in less than ten seconds.

As he predicted,  and as usual,  his sister opened the door and giggled looking at his shirtless brother.  Kenny was twenty,  and was supposed to be finding a man,  but she refused,  saying that her heart was filled with someone already.

"Damien dad and mom want you downstairs!" The dark-haired girl yelled with a smile,  she loved to make her brother mad,  or at least frustrated.  "How many times do I have to tell you that you can't enter my room like this?" Damien asked her as he got out of the bed,  he walked to the closet,  putting on a pair of jeans and a T-shirt and quickly arranging his hair.

He walked barefoot downstairs,  with his older sister hugging his arm.  She was beautiful,  he knew that,  and even if she was older than him he was slightly scared the dumb girl would get in trouble with a man if she even tried to approach one.  But he wasn't going to admit that.

He pushed the girl away once they reached the dining room.  His mother smiling at him and his dad just sending him a quick glare before he returned to the newspaper.
Damien sat down, asking for a coffee and some fruit.  He tapped his fingers on the table,  his elbow leaning on it and resting his chin on his fist.

A small kick under the table made him sit straight,  he rolled his eyes.  His parents were annoying with the manners.
After a minute or so his coffee and food came,  he started eating.  His sister was talking to her mother about something he wasn't really paying attention.

'I guess that I am like that in that aspect" he thought before looking at his dad,  he knew he looked like his dad.  Dark hair,  pale skin,  light eyes.  His mother was opposite,  his sister looked like her,  even tho she had dark hair too.

While the silence filled the chamber Damien kept spacing out a lot,  thinking about his life,  about himself and his future.

Three knocks on the door made the whole family look towards it,  a man entered,  his shoulder and arm were full of blood,  his other hand was covering what seemed a wound,  the clothes were broken.

Damien didn't need a second glance,  knowing who was the responsible of it.  His parents and sister knee too,  but they had to take care of the man.
Damien,  however run out of there,  not caring the yells of his mother.  He ran across the palace,  reaching the doors and quickly walking out the door.

Wolves.

They had been running around the place and attacking people for a week.  He sighed in defeat and decided it was time to try and move them out.  He  walked by the garden,  his feet enjoying the coldness of the snow.  He saw some red spots on the white substance,  he kneeled and ran his fingers by it.  Blood.

He looked up,  there was a black wolf growling to him,  he was a feet few away,  he seemed to be hurt by his side,  and he seemed to be the one that bite the man,  his teeth and jaw covered in the red liquid.

He stayed still,  he knee that if he moved too harshly the wolf would attack him,  so he just decided to watch the animal.

The wolf slowly stopped growling,  however,  Damien knew that if he moved he would start over again.  He sat back on the snow,  only watching the animal,  which walked closet and sniffed the air a bit.
Damien extended his hand,  his pale skin fusioning with the snow.

A yell made the animal growl and run back to the place he had come from.  Damien stood,  mad at that,  not only because his life had been put in risk,  but because they had scared the animal away.

He turned around and glared at his sister "look.  You need to stop being a dog and following me around.  I don't need protection okay?" He raised his voice at his sister,  who just watched him confused.

He stomped out of there,  ignoring his parents and slamming his room door and putting the lock.  He leaned on it,  he breathed slowly,  trying to calm down.
He approached the window,  his eyes looking around,  he saw the wolf by the edge of the woods,  their eyes met and the wolf howled before running off.

Damien sighed and wondered what would happen if he decided to go there,  maybe a look,  maybe he could make the animal trust him.  He shook his head.  It was a horrible idea,  he could get killed,  and his mother would be mad at his corpse.
