Chapter 1 ;
"SARAH BRIT MONTE GET YOUR ASS OUT HERE NOW!" My best friend Haley yelled at me from the kitchen of our dorm room.
"CALM DOWN I AM GOING" I yelled back as I grabbed my uni hoodie and pulled it over my brown head of hair that I than pulled up into a high ponytail.
I ran out of my room and into the kitchen grabbing my bag and racing out the door my black Nike sneakers pounding against the pavement on the campus of teenagers talking and throwing frisbee's or footballs.
I dodged a frisbee whizzing toward my head as I sprinted across the grass to my only class of the day. Which sucked for me because I had to run across campus to the other side at 8 o'clock in the morning.
I opened up the huge oak doors leading to my 3 hour lecture on some way to use a gun. Which was actually most interesting than it sounded.
It was all target practice. I dropped my bag at my seat and ran down the stairs to target practice. Of course my while class was already there and Professor Cooper glared at me than smiled.
I was his favorite student so he never got mad at me. I pulled on my earmuffs and grabbed a gun. I took some shots, copying the people next to me. I hit bullseye every shot.
All this training was for the same thing. To become a cop. I personally wanted to me a homicide investigator or a detective. It just sounded so interesting. Catching the bad guys like superheroes.
Even tho they didn't exist at all.
I was never tho one to believe in stories. Even when I was younger. It just seemed so unrealistic and impossible. Like com on, Spider-Man? A guy who got bit by a radio active spider that magically turned into a guy with Spidy Senses and can shoot webs?
Fake.
I liked a real life. No strings attached. And I practically ruined every childhood story my parents ever told me but whatever. No biggie right?
Wrong. Almost every guy who liked superheroes hated me and every girl except Haley and Diana hated me too for bit believing in fairy tales.
Not my fault none of them were realistic. Which they weren't.
Any who. As we were taking shots at our targets all of a sudden, the targets came forward to see how well we could shoot. Mine, hit bullseye every shot.
Parker who was beside me, looked worried. He had hit the head a couple of times which isn't that bad if they were trying to kill you.
But he also hit the targets hands, throat and shoulder. I smiled weakly at him. Parker was a amazing and smart student but when it came to hands on shooting, running and anything athletic. I pray for his soul.
"Sarah Monte! Amazing job. You hit bullseye every time. Professor are you not proud of your student?" A police officer asked as they examined my target.
Professor Cooper nodded. "She is one of my best students." I smiled sheepishly.
We got fresh and crisp new targets, professor and the police officer turned away and went to go and talk outside while we put the new targets up. Stefan Keel & his idiotic friends walked up to Parker.
Stefan Keel was a complete idiot I was completely surprised that he made it through high school and into university. They were jocks of course. They got a scholarship to the university because of football.
"Hey Parker. Still can't hit the damn target eh?" Stefan snickered. "I still wonder how you got into the course. This is to become a police officer. Not a stupid video game to kill people. " He sneered pushing him against the wall.
"I-I just don't have the best aim...." He spoke quietly look down at the ground. I could see behind his framed glasses he was trying not to cry.
He got tortured everyday. And hell I felt bad for him.
"Stefan back off." I command. "Leave him alone at least he got to this university by being smart not on some stupid scholarship for a stupid sport."
Stefan spun around toward me. His eyes showed his frustration and anger. And Stefan Keel was not a small guy. 6'3 and had muscle to rip me in half.
"Shut it Sarah. At least I can pay for the damn school and don't have a job to hardly pay for it." He growled staring me down.
"Well than again I am not a spoiled brat and I can make my own money instead of my parents handing me every cent!!" I yelled back at him.
Soon the professor and the officer had come back inside. As they walked down stairs Stefan who was furious raised his arm to slap me.
"Hold it right there or I will shoot!" Officer Graham yelled pulling out his gun. "You mister Keel can be charged with assault and abuse."
And that was my day. Getting in a fight in university and than almost getting fined. And trust me. I may even get sued for this.....
