the redhead stood in front of her mirror, admiring her appearance. her curled hair was now straightened, it was something new, then a long, flowing dress clinging slightly to her body and a pair of red heels, of course. cheryl blossom was going to some school dance with toni topaz. she couldn't believe it, well, the two of them going to a dance together — DANCING with each other to be exact — and having fun the whole night. luckily her mother would be out, toying with the men of riverdale, not knowing of this plan. soon there was the sound of a car pulling up and a knock on the front door, loud enough for her to hear. cheryl smiled to herself, heading down the staircase and to the door.the female placed her hand on the handle, turning and opening it,"im shocked you came on time—"
her eyes finally adjusted after opening the door. before another word came from her mouth, she had to admire the being that was in front of her. antoinette topaz, a member of the serpents, was in a DRESS?
obviously the dress would've been on the 'tomboyish' style of things, but the bombshell was swooning already.
the serpent raised a brow, a small chuckle escaping her mouth,"w-what? its just a dress." toni noticed her girlfriend just in utter shock, and it made her blush a bit.
"you just look extravagant in a dress, i'm truly shocked by your beauty." the redhead spoke, grinning. she couldn't help it, she was so happy.
toni giggles softly,"and you're looking stunning like usual, cheryl." she smiled, grabbing the olive skinned girls hand,"well, come on. we have a dance to go to."
the couple headed to a car, surprisingly not toni's motorcycle. cheryl was a little confused of how she managed to get such a fancy vehicle to drive them to the school. obviously she would've done it herself maybe, but she didn't know what her girlfriend had in mind.
on the way there, they chatted, mainly about the dance and if there was a possible after party hosted by someone else due to cheryl already hosting one last time. it didn't take long for the duo to arrive, the male driving them walked over quickly, letting the serpent out first and soon came the blossom, toni allowing cheryl to wrap her arm and lock it around hers.
"ready?"
"wait, not yet..."
cheryl quickly latched onto toni's hand, their fingers intertwining, her giving a small squeeze of reassurance. it felt better that way — holding hands to show you're in a relationship.
now the two were ready, walking into the large gymnasium. music was playing, people were chatting amongst themselves... of course, some people HAD to bring flasks of alcohol with them. being together — in front of everyone — would be quite nerve-racking. usually, it would be the males who were 'not normal' and being gay or bisexual, but they were here to prove it wrong.
cheryl's eyes looked throughout the crowd. obviously she had her doubts about this, which was a bit odd, but she let the idea slide. toni noticed, leaning close to her and speaking loud enough for her lover to hear.
"we'll be fine, i promise, okay?" she smiled, paying full attention.
a nod was given back, her eyes adjusting to the person beside her,"yeah, sorry." she chuckled, then lead her over to get a glass of punch. she got a cup, first handing the one to toni then pouring herself one.
everyone was dancing, but the music was too upbeat. the teen wanted something slow, romantic — something to get her an excuse to dance with the serpent goddess.
soon enough that wish came true, even if an hour and a few minutes passed them by. well, they did dance to the hyped music, but cheryl was more excited for this moment.
they were both nervous, they never danced with another. the lovely redhead knew how to slow dance, but did the other know how? if not, she'd enjoy it.
after a moment or two of silence toni cleared her throat, holding out a hand to cheryl,"may i have this dance? i'd be honored." she gave a smile up to her girlfriend, her radiating happiness from all directions. she was nervous to ask, but she did it anyways. the topaz shouldn't be afraid to ask, and the glamorous babe in front of her was definitely not a stranger to her anymore.
an immediate grin appeared on her face, something toni never seen before which only made her smile curve more. the vixen soon spoke, nodding,"yes! i'd adore that, especially with you."
the southsider lead her into the slow dancing crowd that began to form, soon finding an empty spot for the two of them. yes, they made sure to look around — EVERYONE was dancing with the opposite gender, heterosexual or not. sure, it was a rule. but did they care? nope. not at all.
eventually, they were in the correct position, but cheryl had to tell toni where to place her hands and lean in a bit. it was a little silly and embarrassing, but it worked, and it was cute. she could completely tell the serpent wasn't used to these things.
they swayed side to side, taking a few steps as their faces stayed locked forward, eyes connecting with another's. glares by possible administrators could've been felt, but the girlfriends ignored it. they were caught up in a moment.
it was their moment.
there was no chaos, no arguments, no black hood, no gang related feuds.
they blocked everything out as if it wasn't existent to them. toni cared deeply for cheryl, and the infamous cheryl? she managed to fall in love and become very protective of this woman. not any woman, but HER woman, her lover, her future wife. she had a feeling in her gut that they would never stray away or argue about stupid things. she had thoughts before about their future, and to be honest? they must've been nothing but happiness because it's what the two of them deserve.
snapping out of her realm of thoughts, she was interrupted by her own question that suddenly blurred out to toni,"why did you choose me?" she asked with a small head tilt.
the pink haired female scrunched her nose slightly, eyebrows furrowed,"is that a real question?" she chuckled, shaking her head slightly with a smile.
"surprisingly? yes, it is... why toni? why me?"
the serpent tried to gather her thoughts as quickly as she could. she knew why, more than one hundred percent sure, she just didn't know how to put her endless love for her into words nor actions.
"cheryl blossom, i chose you because you're an amazing, beautiful human being who deserves everything. you aren't afraid of anything, and if you are, it's completely natural to be. you are the strongest girl i've met, you're like a role model to me, alright? i'm also here for you, as a friend, girlfriend, or whatever."
the northsider listened, absorbing all the words that were spoken to her. a large smile managed to show,
