I was watching one of my faovrite T.V shows..and a charatcer -named Jude- had a friend, named Connor. And Jude's parents are two lesbian (he's adopted btw) females raising 5 kids at the moment.
Anyways, Connor's dad has prevented him from being Jude's friend because he thinks Jude is gay. Connor asked Jude if he was gay..and Jude said something... he said something like "Why do we have to place labels on everyone? Putting us in boxes?"
And i thought... "He's right. Why do we put labels on everyone?"
Why does society have to put us into these...groups...of life. Sorting us by color, religion, sexual desires and if we wmay have a mental illness or disability.
It's like..all of us who may not be straight, or white, or Christian or even being able to hear or walk....aren't human. Like theres something that makes us...100% different. Yes, we may act different or look different..but we're still human. We're still caring and loving souls deep down in our hearts.
There's no reason to separate us from what we now see as the stereotypical normal human. All of us are human. And we should all get the respect we deserve. And not hate for being or having something that we were born with or can't change.
So next time you see someone with a different skin color or religion or lisp or even if who likes someone of the same gender...think if that person was you..and would you want to be judged or categorized?
