"You're still going to school", I heard my dad say. Ugh you humans and school. "What", I screamed, "You want me to go to school". "Yes"he said simply. "C'mon dad", Jasper groaned, "We have to go look for Mike". "You don't have to do anything", he replied, "That's why Cody's here". "But-". "No buts". "Just-". "Just listen". "Ugh", I said with a huff, "You are impossible". "You're still going", he said. My brother and I groaned and collapsed onto the futon.
"Can I stay home tomorrow", I asked hopefully. "No", my dad replied, "We can't draw attention to ourselves". "Why", my brother asked, "We'll need all the help we can get". "I said no".
The next day Cody drove us to school, he said he couldn't risk us getting lost to. We arrived and were immediately met by Trina, y'know that girl I insulted on the first day. "Why hello Rose", she greeted in a mock sweet voice, "To scared to walk to school". I growled, "I'm not in the mood to deal with you today". Cody's eyes turned to slits, "I don't suppose you know what dignity is do you? Just asking". Oh god I love my family. She twirled her hair around her finger, "Oh hello didn't see you there". Was she flirting. He just clicked his tounge in annoyance, "Dignity! A very valuable asset you clearly need it". "Any way, Rose? Jasper? You are not leaving your lunch in my car", he said tossing it to us, "If you do my friends will wolf it down". He seemed very pleased with his joke. "And little girl", he gestured to Trina, "If you want to stay alive don't mess with me or my family you'll regret it".
I like him. Don't disgust me. Ha.
"Bye", I waved to him, "And becareful". My eyes told him the rest, good luck. He nodded and drove off.
The school day was pretty normal
Normal until lunch that is. Tyler, the guy who shamelessly tried to make me his girlfriend, was supposed to meet me for lunch to keep me company, because my brother couldn't and he didn't want to leave me alone.
You're not going to like this. Like what!? I know who your mate is. You do? Who is it? He's coming towards you, shame I can't take over your body. I looked up and saw Tyler walking towards me, he seemed to be focusing on......me. He smiled.
"Hey Rose", he said casually sitting down. "Hi", what the hell is going on. "So do you know? ", he asked. "No what?". "Who your mate is of course", he said. I gulped, "Yes". He leaned towards me, his face inches from mine. "Hello mate", he said thoroughly enjoying my distress, "it's rare for us to notice each other this early you know". "It is?", I said returning his gaze. "Yes", he answered, "And personally I think we're going to have lots of fun".
