Chapter 33... FINAL CHAPTER

We were tip-toeing out into the hall when I heard Riker go OOF. I turned around to see Lila perched on Riker's back, in attempt to keep us from leaving. She started yelling for the goons to come and get us, as I attempt to get her off of Riker's back. I pushed on her, causing her to fall off, but in return she punched me in the rib cage. I stumbled backwards in shock, and Riker ran over to me. I looked up to the doorway to see one of the goons aiming his gun at Riker. Lila obviously didn't see this, as she ran over to Riker in attempt to hold him down. The only thing you could hear was the sound of the gun shooting and the loud ringing in my ears.

"RIKER!" I exclaimed running over to Riker. I felt all over his body until I realized that he had not been shot at all. I was certain that someone had been shot, and that's when I heard Lila's body drop to the ground, dead. I looked over at her dead body and then up at the goon with the gun. He quickly got over his shock and and aimed his gun at us once again. Before he could shoot, I threw my purse at him, causing him to drop the gun. As he bent down to pick it up, Riker and I were already gone. 

We ran as fast as we could down to the parking lot of the apartment building, and jumped into Riker's truck. We started the ignition quickly and he drove out of the lot. We quickly sped out of the lot, but not before Mr. Mainer and the goons were able to get into their cars and chase after us. We sped down the road, turning as often as we could, trying to them off of our tails. 

Finally we had gotten them off of our track, and Riker slowed down to a stop. We pulled into a clearing on the side of the side. I unbuckled my seat belt and moved over to sit beside him. I looked over at him, gently kissing his forehead. Riker just sat there, not doing anything until I heard him start to cry quietly.
