It has restarted snowing on the sleepy, white heaven of the north coast. What can be more exciting to a little boy of 8 then a snow just right for making snowmen and snow angel and maybe having a snow fight without telling mommie? Yeah you've guessed it, absolutely nothing. As little Michael woke up and climbed out of bed he could see the dancing snowflakes slide down his window in a silent hello, tempting him to run outside and play. As quickly as his little hands can work he put on his jeans and white pullover with his heavy red coat. Maybe he can be the Santa clause in the game with his friends this time. He jogged into the living room and was stopped by mommie on his way to the door. "Mommie please let me go out and play, pleasssse?" His mommie smiled at his innocent look that was set to convince her, she acted to be in deep thought and then said, "Ok I’ll let you go play if you finish all your breakfast." Micheal didn’t need any more convincing, he ran into the kitchen to finish his breakfast.

Micheal gulped down his waffles and drank his HUGE cup of milk in a few minutes. Mommie was impressed and let him go out and play. He jogged out and headed to the park where he and his friends always met. He started singing his favorite Christmas song, the one they were practicing in school, as Christmas was only 2 days away. "We wish you a merry Christmas, we wish you a merry Christmas, and a hap...." Suddenly he tripped and fell. He looked down to find that he has tripped on a tree root that he hadn't seen and he notices something. A little person was wearing red elfish-like clothes and was scrambling into a hole built in a little snow mountain. He couldn't help his curious nature from making him follow the strange creature into the hole. The crawled in and found a while with red strips tunnel leading to a place down. He crawled in and kept crawling when suddenly the tunnel became slippery and he fell and fell and fell. He came into light and fell down on the elf head seen at the top.

"Sorry," little Michael said as the present that was in the elves’ hand flew. Everyone went quite surprised as they saw him. He got up and looked at them; they all looked the same, like the elves that work with Santa clause in his library book. Except that they were wearing red not green. "How did you get in here?" one of them asked. He wasn't sure which one was it so he looked at his shoes as he answered "I saw him coming in from the hole and I wanted to know where he was going then I fell. I was just going to see my friends when I ...." "Quiet child," he was cut by the angry growl from the one who had asked him, "Which one have you seen coming down?" Little Michael was too scared to speak now so he just pointed at the elf who received a sharp look. "I want to make this clear. If you talk to anyone about what you just saw you won’t receive any gifts this Christmas." With that Michael found himself sitting on the snow, the same spot he had fallen. He walked to the park with a confused look.

Micheal saw his friends and starting running towards them and he forgot what he just saw. He had great fun building a snow man which was in their eyes the perfect sculpture. Then they lay down and started making snow angels and laughing so hard. Then finally they split into two teams to have the snowball fights and winning happily. They went home drained from all energy and really hungry. After having dinner and the hot chocolate to warm him up he went to bed with a big smile on his baby lips. He drifted off into dreams about presents and elves and strange creatures. Then a strange noise trespassed on his dream. A strange sniffing noise. It took him a while to realize that the noise was real not a dream and he opened his eyes to a bright red blinking apple.

Micheal was about to scream when he saw the apple sniff him but then what he saw made him loose his voice. The red apple wasn’t an apple; it was a nose of one of the creatures in his story book. The ones that pulled Santa clause's carriage. He couldn’t remember what it was called but then a voice distracted him and pulled him out of his wonderings. "Rudolph you must be mistaken. This is just a little boy. How would he know anything about our problem?" Micheal tried to see the person talking but he was standing in the dark. All he can see was the outline of a fat man. The thing he called Rudolph motioned to the boy with his nose several times. "Ok ok I’ll ask him," the man said as he stepped into the light. Micheal rubbed his eyes several times unbelieving that he was seeing

Was it really Santa clause? "Santa," Micheal said in a faint voice. "Yeah that’s me," he said chuckling, "You see, little boy, I have a problem. And Rudolph here says that you can help me. All the presents were stolen and I am looking for them otherwise there won’t be any presents for the children this year," he sighed sadly. "What?!! No presents? But the elves said that if I don’t tell anyone that I saw them I will get a present," little Michael looked at the floor sadly. Christmas isn’t Christmas without Santa’s presents. "Elves?!! What elves? Have you really seen elves? Where and when?" a bewildered Santa asked and little Michael told him of the accident that happened today which he had forgotten till now

Santa listened to every word Michael said wondering who those red clothed elves were. "Micheal can you come show me their hideout? I promise you a great gift if you help me find the lost Christmas presents." "Ok but let me change first," Michael said getting out of bed excited at the prospect of helping the legend Santa clause who is even more famous then the actor brad pit."No. No time for you to change. Just put on a jacket and hop onto Rudolph’s back and let’s go." Micheal did as he was told and soon he was flying through the sky on Santa’s carriage and chatting happily. "There!! In the snow mountain there was a hole that the elf went through and I followed. Looks like they covered it with snow," Micheal pointed to the spot. They landed and Santa stood thinking. "Come on, let’s dig and find our way in," he said. They started digging till they found the whole and went in falling to the floor with a thud

All the elves froze as one by one looked at Santa and the little boy who had gotten one of them punished just this morning. "Well well, what do we have here? Elves whom disobeyed my orders and were punished now stealing my Christmas presents and hiding in my old gift workshop," Santa said angrily. No one said a word fearing Santa’s anger. "Why do you want to ruin Christmas?" he asked disappointed. One of the elves got the courage and answered, "Christmas is unfair. We work all year making toys and in the end they go as presents to little kids while we get nothing so we decided that this year all the presents would be ours. Let the kids feel like we've been feeling for so long every Christmas." Santa looked upset at that answer and looking at the elf he said, "I realize my mistake, I thought that the elves were more like me, just happy by seeing the happiness on the kid's faces. Come back to work with me and I promise from now on there will be a present for every elf." they cheered

So let us sing our favorite theme song and everyone started singing "we wish you a merry Christmas, we wish you a merry Christmas, we wish you a merry Christmas and a happy new year." Micheal was dazzled by how beautiful they sung and wished he could sing like them. He vowed he'll keep on training till he can master it like they did. He helped them get all the present’s bag into the carriage and Michael’s little head was buzzing with all the stories he was going to tell his friends. By the time all the presents were in the carriage Michael was really tired. Santa told all the elves to go home and put Micheal on the carriage and took him home. He tucked him into bed and left him with his dreams of his Christmas gift

Micheal woke up at 12 midnight of Christmas night and ran downstairs with his parents. His parents held each other as they watched their little boy oooh and aaaah at the presents they got him. And there only one more present he hasn’t opened. The card on it read "Thanks for saving Christmas young man." He hurriedly tore at the wrapping and held his breath when he saw what Santa got him. The skis that he had wanted and was saving for. He ran to the window and saw Santa flying in the sky in front of the moon. He went back to bed humming "We Wish You A Merry Christmas."
