She laid across her messy, black bed as lighting started to appear on the midnight sky, indicating that any minute now, rain will pour down from above. She closed her eyes and listened to the thunderclaps which she finds calming. Soon after, little raindrops fell on her window. She enjoyed the moment, even though she can't feel anything. And then again, she remembered that she can't feel anything.
Jang Hye Ra's POV
I can't feel anything
I can't feel anything
I can't feel anythingBut, with a sharp object, I can feel something. You know what it is? Yes, pain. Pain accompanies me when that sentence goes on in my head. I got addicted to it that I do it every single day. Even though I can only feel it in a brief moment. I got so overwhelmed that I can finally feel something. Today, that sentence played in my mind over and over again.
I can't feel anything
I can't feel anything
I can't feel anythingI got up from my bed and tied my reddish-brown hair into a messy bun. I headed straight to the bathroom and grabbed the sharp object that I was hiding behind my mirror. I placed my arm on the sink, turned it and saw my wrist that is full of wounds received from this sharp object. Before i can even cut myself, someone knocked on my gate.
Ugh, wrong timing.
I sighed and hid that precious sharp object behind the mirror as I walked out the door. The knock on the gate became more louder which caused me to run and made me forget to pick up my umbrella. But it was too late when I realized it because I was already wet due to the rain. Who is this person anyway? Knocking in the middle of the night like, seriously?? As I opened the large gate, I saw an woman probably in her mid 30s, standing with a red umbrella on hand. She wore a yellow jacket and a black pants. As she looked at me, I soon figured out who she was.
"Aunt Hanna!" I shouted as I ran towards her and hugged her tightly. "I m-missed y-you s-so much." I said in between sobs.
She hugged me back and patted my shoulders. I faced her and she smiled.
"Now why won't you let me in first." She chuckled.
I led her in and made her hot cocoa. I sat beside and started a conversation.
"So, are you staying here?" I asked.
"No, I want to but I can't. I'm just visiting you." She replied and looked at me. I looked down. "You haven't done anything while I was gone right?"
I can't answer her question, I felt guilty. She let out a deep sigh which made me look at her.
"Well, right now, go to your room and take a shower, you might get sick because of that." She said with a sweet smile. I nodded and went straight to my room.
I took a quick shower, put on my black long sleeves and black pajamas. I went out and saw aunt Hanna taking her last sip of hot cocoa. She saw me and signalled me to come near her. I did what I was told and came to her. She stood up and put her arms around me. I let my face sink in her shoulders, it was long since I received this hugged. For me, it felt like ages ago. We stayed like that for a couple of minutes before she spoke.
"I'm sorry if I can't keep you company, if I can't stay with you. You know what your father can do."
"I know." I started to cry again.
She let go of the hug, and minutes after, she left, and I, again, was all alone.
