CANDY

When heartbreak is mentioned the first thing that comes to peoples mind is BOY. Heartbreak is not only caused by a boy.

Heartbreak can be caused by parents and in my case my mother.

Heartbreak is when your parents promise you icecream and later they say they can't get it for you.

"Mummy" I screamed running to meet my mother downstairs. Its only me and my mother there's no father in the equation. Simply put it am adopted. How do I know at such a young age? Thats a story for another day.

"Candy. I thought you were asleep" my mother asked.

"I just woke up" I replied. I didn't even know when I slept off. One thing am playing then next am in dreamland.

"Do you want to go out?" Yes! Yes! We barely go out except i go to school and my mother goes to work or maybe we go to the market or go see her friends. Its usually on rare times my mother agrees to come out and just have fun.

"Yes. Where?"

"Lets go for ice cream at your favourite. Go get ready"

"Okay" I ran to my room happily so I can dress up quickly before she changes her mind which happens a lot.

After ten minutes I was dressed and ready to go. Still jumping in excitement i went to meet my mother and saw her sleeping on the chair.

"Mummy. Am ready" I tried to gently wake her up.

"Hm" she opened her eyes and looked at me "Sorry. I suddenly feel tired another day okay" she said tiredly. I would be lying if I say it didn't hurt but I get it. She's tired.

I stoop up am quietly and went to my room. Another day she said. Knowing her another day could be in six months. She would forget this day like it never happened.

Heartbreak is when your own mother forgets your birthday.

I woke up today feeling very excited because its my birthday I have school today and although there's no party my mom and I could just go out when I close from school.

I had my bath and got dressed for school before going to the living room to meet my mum. "Mummy good morning"

"How was your night?" She replied me while smiling.

"Fine"

"Are you ready?"

"Yes I am"

"Ok let Dan drop you" Dan is our driver. He has been with us for a long time.

"Ok" my excitement had gone done a bit. I had hopes that she wouldn't  forget my birthday again this year because I kept talking about it till yesterday and she's not one to plan a surprise party. She doesn't have time for that.

Heartbreak is when your parents don't fulfil any of their promises as a matter of fact the forget it as soon as they say it.

Heartbreak is when your own parents accuse you of stealing their own belongings.

"Candy did you see the money we came back with when we travelled?"

"No I gave it to you" This as usual is regular.

"Then where is it? i left it in my room now its not there are you sure you didn't see it?"

"No I didn't" I replied. She had her thinking face on before she left to her private room.

Since I spoke to her earlier she has not spoken to me only utters monosyllabic words knowing her i stopped trying before she explodes on me.

"Candy!" She finally summoned me.

"Yes mummy"

"Are you sure you didn't take that money?" She said slowly.

"I said I didn't" i knew where she was heading it happens any time something goes missing. No matter how it went missing it would always be Candy who took it.

"I know you took it. You have gone to give it to your boyfriends haven't you" she looked at me with disgust and scowled.

She always thinks I have numerous boyfriends and I give them her money.
I don't know  where she got such thinking from.

Heartbreak is when you are called names over very little issues.

Heartbreak is when your parents ignore your existence for no reason.

Heartbreak is also when your parents discuss you negatively with their friends.

To every good thing there's a bad thing. I don't have any form of hatred for anybody but when her bad side comes out.

Hating her doesn't seem bad anymore but I would like to think her good side overpowers her bad side.

My life is pretty complicated in all areas:boys, friends, school and family but I know that others have it rough out there but still in our minds our problems are bigger than the other. Atleast that's what we like to think.

Hi, my name is Candy and this is the story of my life. Well kind of.
