Chapter 3

Thursday June 6th 1994,

Dear diary,

One day until I turn 18. Wow tomorrow is the day my life becomes alter for the rest of my life. I meet my dad, my soon to be husband wow. Will I be glad or should I be worried. I hope my dad makes a good choice. I have to go shopping for an outfit for tomorrow.

"Ella, I'm here." Elaine yelled from downstairs.

"Coming. I just have to grab my purse." Ella replied.

Ella came down the stairs. Elaine handed her a pair of flats to wear. The girls headed out the door. "Have fun girls!" Lexi shouted. No one answered. They got in Elaine's neon purple convertable it's a very expensive and nice with leather seats. They headed off to their favourite store, Lexingtons it's where Ellas family has shopped for years. It has the best clothes in fashion, in the kingdom.

"Ella, darling how are you? What do you need?" Sophia asked.

"I turn 18 tomorrow and need an outfit to meet my father and my soon to be husband. I can look around for a bit." Ella repsonded.

"Call me if you need me." Sophia said walking to the back.

After looking for five minutes Ella found a dress. It was a cream colour with lace on it. The dress was knee length with a sweet heart neckline and looked amazing on Ella. Now it was time to find shoes....

"Sophia I found a dress I just need shoes." Ella said.

"Excellent choice it's a one of a kind dress, just came in today. I think I have the shoes." She ducked down and grabbed a shoe box. They are flats, white with a bow at the top of the shoe.

"Perfect. Thanks Sophia." Ella thanked.

"I'm not done." She pulled out crystal earrings and a amazing necklace.

"Sophia that's gorgeous! Just perfect I'm nervous and excited for tomorrow!" Ella said in awe.

"120$ will be your cost today Ella thanks for shopping. Good luck tomorrow!" Sophia said neatly putting the dress, shoes and jewelry into a bag.

"Thanks again!" Handing her credit card to Sophia. Ella and Elaine headed for the door when.........

Lexingtons had a surprise visiter. A younge handsome amazingly fit man he looked about Ella and Elaines age. He held the door for the girls. "Thank you. I'm Ella and this is my friend Elaine."

"I'm Cody. No trouble I don't mind holding a door for such beautiful younge ladies." The girls blushed at what Cody had said.

Seeing Ella was caught in a glaze with him Elaine quickly said, "Why don't you meet us at Ella's 18th birthday bash tomorrow at the castle?"

"Your Princess Ella? Well I would be glad and honoured to attend this birthday bash. See you tomorrow night." He said as the girls walked to the car. Off they drove.

"Now Ella you were practically druling over him." Elaine giggled.

"It's not my fault. Now only if my father will pick someone like Cody for me." Ella sighed.

The girls were back now to the castle or what Ella now called the happy mood wrecker. She was already in a bad mood from the second she got in the castle. Her mother had packed up everything Ella owned and put it in boxes. It was now up to Ella and Elaine to move Ella's entire collection of everything to the castle next door. All they had to do was set up Ella's and her soon to be husband's room, last year Ella and Elaine decided to decorate and set up the castle to everything Ella wanted. All was left to organize Ella's closet and move her soon to be husband in. Off to work they went all 150 boxes.

It was 8:30pm. "Elaine all the boxes are in and unpacked we just have to put the stuff away. Lets take an hour break. We will be done by 10:30." Ella had decided.

"Sounds good. So are you nervous for tomorrow? When I met Nick I hated him at first but now I don't know what I would without him it's been 4 months now and in 8 months we will be married." Elaine was for months older than Ella so she had already met her soon to be husband but the rule was you had to wait a year to get married.

"Elaine can I ask you a question?" Ella asked.

"Go for it." quickly put my Elaine.

"Since you already had the talk about the whole husband thing, after the year is up if you know you aren't in love with the man do you have to stay with him? Also what if I like someone when my father picked another young man out and if the other person likes me too? And why did my mother not have to keep her husband and is allowed to date or marry anyone she wants when were not????" Ella was very curious about this subject.

"Oh Ella, I know your mom isn't going to talk about this so I will. If you are 100% positive you don't like this young man, it's up to your mother to decide if your allowed to stay the princess or tell you to get out. If another man likes you and your father didn't pick him he has to duel with the man your father chose whoever wins, wins you. Way before when your grandmother ruled the kingdom your mother had stayed with your dad but once she passed Lexi tweaked the rules." Elaine answered.

"Oh wow now I'm even more nervous for tomorrow especially after you invited Cody to my birthday bash!!" Ella said half joking.

"It'll be all ok. let's go back to work shall we." Elaine said. Back to work they went.
