Dorothy smiled as she felt the wind against her freckled face, as she rode her Humber bicycle. She always enjoyed riding her bike down the street. It was last Christmas she got that special bike of hers. She remember how her sister didn't really like stuff like that, more into barbies, dollies, and makeup, like their parents always say it's as if they are polar opposites. Dorothy is the North, Rose is the South. It was early morning when she headed out, Dorothy's parents ask if she could run to the store and get some eggs and bread before the sun rose to much far up. She was okay with doing so, since the store was only about 2 blocks away or so.
She parked her bike outside the store where her friend Lindsey worked at. She walks in with a soft smile on her face, "Hey Dorothy, sweety what is you doing here this early in the mornin'?" Asked Lindsey questionably as Dorothy closed the door to the store. "Mama wanted me to run down here to the store and grab some eggs and bread, she wanted me to head out early."

"Ah, alright dearest, grab what cha need and come on up to the register." Dorothy nodded softly as she started to move towards the produce illie. She hummed to herself as she searched for the bread. Dorothy hears the doorbell ring and heard a rustle of papers being tossed on the counter. She heard Lindsey say a few things to the man who walked in. "Now, really? I anit believing any of this crap." Says Lindsey faintly from the front of the store. "Well you better believe it, he's been taken' mostly all them Jews and killin' em' off." The man said as he looked through out the store. Dorothy kind shifted in her light baby blue dress as she held onto the bread and eggs, against her chest. The man scoffs as he shrugs."It was good talkin to you but I have to go deliver the rest of these papers."

Lindsey nods as she looks down at the newspapers shaking her head, about what was going on. Lindsey raises one of her eyebrows as she clears her throat, trying to get Lindsays attention to make sure Linsey knows she's there. Lindsey looks up at her and pushes the newspapers to side. Dorothy looks a little bit curious as she notices the paper and walks up to the register. "So uhm Lindsey whats those papers there?" Asks Dorothy as she sets the items on the counter. "Some odd things be going on in this world now." Its as if Dorothy was interrogating her, "Whaaatttsss it about?" She elaborates making her words longer. "Just this guy who seems to be taken' all these Jews into Hostage..."

Lindsey says unaware Dorothy is Jewish. Dorothy clears her throat in total shock and fear. "Well, that is a bit odd i would say. Uhm are you selling....the newspapers today?" "Yeah I would say so I guess, just haven't put out yet" Shrugs Lindsey as she adds up the money "37 cents." She says putting the products into the bag. As Dorothy hands the money to Lindsay, many thoughts ran through her mind. "Now you there Dorothy, get home before you're mama throws a fit." She Uttered as Dorothy grabbed the bag.
