Chapter 10: The First Infection III

Y/N POV

As the elevator descended all that could be seen were rooms with glass walls, and test subjects inside of them.

Y/N: "Do we have any idea on how many people are being tested on here?" I asked Jane over the comms, to which she replied very quickly.

Jane: "From what I'm getting from their data, I'd say somewhere between 1,000 to 2,500. I know that's pretty hollow but there's so much data I'm getting just from the front computer Rose put the device in." She begins going on about it.

Y/N: " That's good, but any idea where the main computer could be at?" I ask Jane.

Jane: "Main control room, which is... on the lowest floor." She says the last part with hesitation.

Y/N: "Jane. How many floors are we talking about here?" I calmly ask her but get no response.

Jack: "Well, I guess that's where the comms are cut off... it's all on us now." He sighed after speaking.

Y/N: "Seems like, but that's unsurprising because of how far down we are now." I calmly state as I take my earpiece out and let it dangle at my neck.

Jack: "Yeah, but now we need to be extra careful. Otherwise we could end up getting killed here." He states while him and Emily also take their earpieces out.

Emily: "Yup, meaning you both need to not go insane and try being Heros. We have no idea what they experimented on these people for. As far as we know it could be an airborne disease that could kill upon contact or some shit." She said as coldly as ever. I simply nod.

Y/N: "Agreed, but that's why we need to locate the main computer. To get the Intel to Jane and find out if we can blow this place to rubble or if we should burn the place down. Cause we don't need any diseases or viruses escaping this place. That's the top priority. Even if it means one of us need to be die. Preventing it from escaping should be top priority. But, on a low chance one of us get infected we might be able to cure it with the data we get from here." I state coldly to both of them, Emily nods in agreement but Jack doesn't respond. We start walking down the halls with our weapons aimed at the ready. I hear a loud clash of something behind us and quickly snap to look behind us. What I see looks like something from a horror movie, I notice Jack and Emily also looking at it. It was a human like creature walking on all fours, it had skin barely hanging onto it. It had sokme bones exposed, and it had the face similar to a dog but it looked more human. It screams a ear piercing scream and two more came around the other corners. "Run..." neither of them move so I yell at them with my gun ready. "RUN DAMMIT!!" they both start running and I start firing at the creatures as I walk backwards. With every bullet that hits them they screech in pain as I continue to fire at them. I pull out my M110 SASS with incinderary rounds, I fire into one of their heads. It's head becomes a ball of fire as it continuously screams in pain, the other two watch as it flails around in pain. I turn around and start running, after a minute I stop and turn around. I hear scratching from above me in an airvent and back up, another human like creature tears a hole through the ceiling and drops down and looks at me. I pull out my MP7 and fire 4 bullet's into its head, it falls to the ground and doesn't move. I turn back around and continue running, I run into an office room and look around while hearing a sound all around me and seeing a small figure moving in the shadows.

Rose POV

I finish putting traps down on the doors and cover the windows. I kneel down to see Kat.

Rose: "How're you feeling Kat?" I asked her, she looked at me with the straightest face she could make.

Kat: "Oh just amazing, nothing like getting shot and being cornered with no more ammo. Only to have Y/N save us." She said in a sarcastic tone while reloading her M9 Beretta.
