"She's one of the nicest assholes you could ever hope to meet" Lyra smiled slyly and her cheeks glowed gold to match her perfect dark skin.
Sometimes I wonder why she even came back, yeah I get that the whole system needed to be "re-started" but everyone including Jackson and I believed it would just mirror the last attempt that ended with that dark night in that dark, small town.
"We play dumb but we know exactly what we're doing" Grey raised her voice to the point of cracking and Alexander just laughed
He towered over her grey, even though he was younger by a few years Grey a merely 5'1 and by a few feet Alexander stood at 6'6 his hair brushed against the grey smooth ceiling.
"Yeah I get that," Alexander inhaled trying not to laugh at the squeak in her small intimidating voice "Shut the fuck u-" The small girl dressed in a grey hoodie and ripped pants with a large band of gold on her right wrist.
"They're dead because of you!" Alexander let loose all the built up anger over the past few years, and the main reason that started it all was that starless night. He instantly regretted what he said, tone, word choice, stature, even volume the moment anger flashed across her eyes and she turned to me
"Can I punch him?"
I shook my head her fist was at her sides and she was about to rip him apart...
"Are you SURE I can't punch him in the face" by now she was biting her lip and Alexander was standing there smirking.
"Yes," He winked at me and smiled as I said that.
"What if I just break his nose a little?" Alexander's eyes went wide, and his skin went pale. Before I could respond her small hand came across his cheek right above the jaw.
SMACK
"FUCK" He grabbed his face and his knees bent "What was that for!!!' She walked away and mumbled while walking out the door.
"Give me patience or an untraceable handgun."

I couldn't hear anything but the static in my head and felt nothing but the numbness in my hands the sounds of the forgotten men were terrifying.
"He's not like us,"Grey's voice was quiet, Jackson finally out shock nodded his head. "He doesn't value life the way we do."
Alexander looked up from the pristine bathtub, he was sitting on to look at Grey leaning on the bathroom sink. The white clean door frame was digging into my shoulder.
"Why are we in here again?" Jackson asked he was clearly tired of being cramped into a small hotel bathroom with three other people.
"This is the only place they don't record everything," Alexander replied
"They record everything?" I was confused, and I was new to everything. I was kept in the dark so long on what was really going on that it all feels so surreal.
"Yeah." Grey rolled her eyes. "Look around and see all the cameras" She chuckled the first time I'd ever seen her happy.
"Since when?" My hands began to shake, "Even in our own homes?"
"Yeah," Jackson mumbled, "It's sad, isn't it? The country is so corrupt. Why do you think we're rebelling?"
"I guess I've been lied too."
"That's what "America" has been since Andrew Jackson," Grey said while checking her phone as Her, Jackson, and Alexander's phones all lit up at the exact same time. They exchanged glances before Alexander got up and Grey looking at me whispering "We have to leave, were being tracked down."
Our feet created a symphony on the Marble floors as we ran through the lobby. As everyone looked at us in disgust. Mumbling to each other about how rude we were, I was dragged into this.
Grey was grabbed by a tall man, but shorter than Alexander. He whispered in her ear, with his five o'clock shadow grazing her neck, "Nothing Personal, Princess, but you need to not be in the city for a while. Wars coming, and we don't want you involved." He made sure Alexander heard it as he was hunched over grey
I stood in place frozen, as he brought a knife to her neck in the middle of a hotel lobby, in central Manhattan. A few dozen people, maybe fifty watched in horror.
The Older man who held Grey looked at Alexander and smirked at his pale face and his dilated eyes. "I can see it in your face. The panic. What's gotten you so scared, little boy." and his smirk on his face got larger and his eyes narrowed as Alexander got more scared but more enraged by the minute.
"I'm trying my best to be polite." Grey spoke up, she was so calm it was shaking, "But if you move that knife a centimeter closer to me," Her accent popped out, as her voice got menacing "I will tear you apart"
Jackson hadn't said anything, he was just as frozen as I was, and the rest of the world around. It was like we were frozen in time, and on-looked the possible murder and blood about to stain the white marble tiles and columns.
The man laughed. Alexander's voice popped up shaky than ever before "G-rey?" he met her simple and ironic matching gunmetal colored eyes. And that moment he watched the life leave her simple eyes, even if she wasn't dead.
"I honestly just want your head." the man whispered in her ear, "You're a threat to the government,"
"Sad," She mocked him, "You here to finish me off sweetheart?" Everyone's jaw dropped in the corner of my eye someone tried to dial the police, but all the cords had been cut and the door was shielded off by the all familiar riot police
The man's low laugh echoed through the hallways bouncing off the fancy pillars put in place to give the room an 'aesthetic' "Look at you, little o'grey. Sacrificing yourself for others! When did you get a heart? I had thought you lost your moral code."
With a smack and screaming, the man I later found to be named "Bran Aaron" A well renowned and almost famous bounty hunter was on the ground with blood in his mouth and seeping out of his head, everything was a blur. But all I knew was Alexander Punched him and I don't remember the way home, just lots of running with Alexander and Grey laughing about how badass it was
"Where did you learn to punch like that?!" Grey laughed jovially
"I learned from the best slapper!" They shouted at each other with sirens going on in the background. "I love how they cant touch us cause we did nothing wrong!" Alexander laughed the most contagious laugh you could imagine "Yeah! I did my time!" Our hair blew in our faces as we ran, for shits and giggles.
That was the night when I finally understood why people fear silence.
