Peter and I land gently in the forest.
"So this is the real world?" I take in a deep breath. "I can feel the difference in the magic here."
"As long as we are in and out, I don't care what properties are different." he says while walking out of the forest. As we break into the cloudy sky.
"Storybrooke." Peter mutters under his breath. "Today we are just going to look around. Nothing more. No interactions unless someone interacts with us. We can't be seen by anyone." He warns me. I nod my head in response as we walk back into the forest and down the large hill. We come upon a back alley and follow it to the road. Peter quickly stops me before waving a hand over my face and his. I close my eyes as I feel the magic work.
"There, now no one will recognize us." he says. As he was about to walk into the street, he turns back to me and takes a breath. "Just, don't say anything about Neverland. And... don't say my name here."
"Then, what should I call you?" I ask while walking up next to him and looking down the street.
"How about-- Jonathan."
I suppress a laugh before clearing my throat and looking at him.
"Is that the best you've got?" I ask. He crosses his arms while facing me.
"Then what should I call you?"
I cock my head and think to myself.
"How about... Margaret."
"Margaret?" he asks while smiling confusedly.
"Yes, Maggie for short. Now are we going or not?"
Peter rolls his eyes before looking around the corner one last time and walking out. I make sure to follow behind him as we make our way into the town. As we walk towards the now somewhat busy streets, I see Peter look behind him and reach a hand out for me to take. I narrow my eyes in confusion as he reaches for it again. Suddenly, he grabs my hand, pulling me towards him and intertwining our fingers.
"What are you doing?" I ask under my breath as we walk past an old man on a ladder.
"It'll make us look less suspicious... Margaret." He emphasizes my fake name. We continue to walk side by side as we make our way towards a diner. 'Jonathan' pulls me towards the diner named Granny's and opens the door. A bell rings to announce our arrival.
"Hello, welcome to Granny's!"
I turn to see an older woman standing at a counter. She hands a short man a beer while smile to me and 'Jonathan'. I wave to her as Peter pulls me into the furthest booth. He sits across from me and smiles before looking around.
"What exactly are we doing here, Jonathan?" I ask while looking around as well.
"We are here to observe someone--"
"Well that doesn't sound suspicious at all." I mutter while looking back to him.
He rolls his eyes before looking at the door. He quickly diverts his eyes to me and smiles.
"He's here." he mutters under his breath.
"What?"
"I'm going to ask you to go get some drinks, alright?"
"Peter no--"
"You do this and it'll help the process go by quicker." he mutters threateningly with a smirk to mask his anger. I gulp down as a shiver runs down my spine.
