The King Will Perish (A Hiro Tale Pt.1)

Chapter 1

             A house shrouded in mist. A little house, bland and not very different from some other houses you'd find across the realm.  Inside the house is a man-,no, a boy with a dream. when he was little he found that money was the greatest thing in the world. growing older, his greed grew. It shadowed his entire life. not having much to live for, he decided to become a bounty hunter/mercenary. he was fond of his job. It made him good money, plus it kept him busy. this boys dream was not to stop fighting, but to pressure it. To live you must eventually kill something or you will be killed. That's just how it was to him. Up until now, he has only done a handful of stupid things, but this one will most definitely be the stupidest. This is a tale, not only a tale, but a tale of a hero who just so happens to be named...Hiro.

"And that's how I single-handedly saved the town from an evil wizard that would have easily killed everyone if i wasn't there. thee end." said Hiro, full of himself as always. A little girl looked up at him brightly, her singular grey hooded cape bouncing behind her. "wow papa! how do you have time to do all of these cool thing when you have to work?" she said astonished. Hiro looked down at her with a cocky grin. "you just have to have what it takes, you know?" he says, stretching his muscles as if to show off. He gets up off the bar stool and looks outside. "its getting dark...hey you should go to bed early tonight. we have to start your elemental assassin training in the morning." he says, maturely.  "Ok papa, i love you!" she walks up the stairs of their two story house and falls asleep in the bed besides her papa's. Hiro gazes out into the dark fog. "Cassie..." he moans under his breath, still peering outside. "when you grow up, you'll be as strong as me, I just hope you can hold the pain of your true pote-" a loud bump came from upstairs. it seems Cassie has fallen asleep, and out of bed. Hiro grabs her and puts her back in her little bed, then looks at his own. he glances back at the sleeping Cassie and lays down in his bed. tomorrow she will start to become the strongest assassin ever in existence.

Hiro wakes up to the sunlight of the morning practically blinding him as he sits up from his bed. Cassie seems to already be up and about as she can be seen outside, looking at the weapon rack on the side of the house. Walking down the stairs it seems she has already cleaned up the place, with everything were it should be and the laundry outside. He goes back upstairs to change into his everyday combat clothes. a brown shirt and pants, with leather guards covering his chest, knees, elbows, and a protective belt. The colors were fairly light, so it looked well together. he walks downstairs and outside, where his little one was frantically putting the weapons back were they should be, as, she is not allowed to touch without being told. Cassie had already changed into her battle armor, which has a few surprises that she has yet to learn about. it was a scaly grey cloak, which covered her entire body. She also had a grayish bandanna that she uses to keep herself from inhaling poisonous gasses. It also makes her breathing silent. because this is her first training lesson in the way of the assassin, this is also the first time she has warn them. "Papa! Look! im like a real ninja now!" she says, beaming with joy. "for the tenth time, your training to be an assassin, not a ninja." Hiro sighed. Some things never change. "Allrighty then, because your so energetic, your training starts now." Cassie flinches with joy, and confusion. "what am i going to be practicing on papa? you don't have any training dummies or bad guys to fight!" Hiro smiles and places a dagger in her hand. "Im going to be your practice partner, so i want you to try and stab me as hard as you can, riiight there." Hiro points to the center of his chest piece. "W-what?! why would you want me to stab you papa!" she looks directly into his eyes, tearing up. Hiro giggles and grabs hold of her hand. "Its ok, I wont get hurt, i promise" he says. She nods in understanding. she takes a quick step back and lunges the dagger strait into his chest piece. Hiro, not surprised at all at her strength, feels as if he is being pulled forward. she cant get the dagger out of the piece, her entire body pulling back on the dagger. Hiro grabs the dagger out of his chest and hands it to her. "lesson one, because of your lack of power and weapon choice, don't attack where they have armor, always try to look for a weak spot and slash. Thrusting is powerful, but if I was the enemy, I would have been able to counter that easily, that and you don't want your weapon getting caught in the mist of battle now, do we?" "yes papa!" she says blushing. he backs up for her and she does it again, this time slashing and getting away faster. They continue to do this until the sun starts to fade. Hiro must have said again at least a good 200 times. "Hey papa?" "yes Cass?" "I was just wondering, you said I was going to become a elemental assassin, right?" She asks curiously. "oh we'll get to that soon enough, just worry about your training sweetie." The fog around the house was getting thicker, Hiro thought it was about time for them to get inside. For dinner Hiro had thought leftover pork would be fine. Back at the couch Cassie was waiting for her papa to join her. Every night before going to bed Hiro tells Cassie a Tale of a previous quest he had been on to make her feel safer and rest easier. I guess you could say it was her bedtime story. "ok, so do you want to hear about that time I beat up someone that took 50 cents from me or the time i slayed a dragon with my trusty blade?" he says laying down. "Ooo Ooo dragon!!" "k so here i was, at the end of this giant mountain i had scaled by myself..." the fog thickened. inside the fog, Hiro is raising Cassie until she will be strong enough to fight for herself. but that time may be cut short, because of the trouble outside the fog...
