If only I had known

I am going to tell you my story which you may or may not know already. My name is Charles and I am a servant of the Capulet household. My mother sold me to them when I was eight and I had to work very hard and under bad conditions ever since.

My only ray of hope was the daughter of the house, my flower Juliet. I spend all my free time with her and even if it was never long I was happy. On my sixteenth birthday I proposed to her and she accepted saying that she would run away with me leaving her family and royalty behind in order to be with me. She told me to wait one more year till her sixteenth birthday that was our promised day.

I spend that year preparing for our escape and every day felt like an eternity. The months passed by without me being able to see my beloved Juliet because we were busy.

At that time I still did not know what my beloved had been busy with...
