Draco's P.O.V:
We arrived at Hogwarts. It was excellent. I wanted to get in a boat with Hermione so I went into a boat and motioned her to come over but Crabbe and Goyle took up the seats. I asked for them to go find another boat but they were too lazy to stand up.

We finally got to the castle and I tried to find Hermione in the swarm of people. I found her and we started talking.

"It's amazing. Isn't it?" She said before I opened my mouth to say the same thing.

"Yeah. It's so cool. My dad told me about it but I didn't imagine it to be like this." I replied.

We walked with the crowd and talked until everyone stopped in front of huge oak doors.

"What house do you think you'll be in?" She asked. I was a bit surprised she didn't know already.

"Slytherin. What about you?" I asked.

"Well I want to be a Slytherin now so I'm in the same house as you."

"I'm blushing right now stop it!" I said to myself in my head.

"Yeah I hope you are." I replied.

She smiled at me and I smiled back then we both started blushing.

"I am so stupid stop blushing!" I thought.

A tall stern looking woman walked in front of the doors and began to speak.

"In a moment I will lead you all to the great hall where you will be sorted and once you are sorted into your house have a seat at your house table. Your houses are like your family. Any good behaviour earns your house house points, any rule breaking and your house loses points. At the end of the year the house with the most points wins the house cup."

Then she opened the oak doors and showed us the great hall. It was brilliant. Floating candles filled the room and the ceiling looked like the night sky.

"The ceiling isn't real you know, it's bewitched to look like the night sky." Hermione said.

"Cool!" I said.

"When I call your name come up and sit on the stool, I will place the sorting hat on your head."

"Fingers crossed."

"Way ahead of you." I said and showed her I was crossing my fingers.

The woman shouted out different names and then,
"Granger, Hermione."

Hermione walked up, sat on the stool and the hat hat was placed on her head.

I couldn't hear what the hat was saying but Hermione looked very worried.
1 minute passed, then 2 then 3 but nothing. I was getting very worried. 4 minutes, 4 and a half.

"GRYFFINDOR!"

I felt like I'd been punched in the face. I looked at Hermione and she waved. I waved back and smiled at her but felt really upset. She shook hands with some people then sat down and watched the sorting.

She read out different names then
"Malfoy, Draco!" I walked up and sat sat on the school.

'Please Gryffindor.' I thought stupidly. Hoping Hermione was thinking the same.

The hat barely touched my head when it said "SLYTHERIN!"

My heart sank and I pretended to smile while walking over to the Slytherin table and sat with Crabbe and Goyle.

Suddenly food had appeared on the plates and everyone started to eat. I ate a little bit then Hermione turned to look at me. I looked sadly at her and waved, she waved back.

"Don't worry, the houses have classes together sometimes." She mouthed to me and I nodded to show I understood.
