6th grade isn't the best year of school, possibly the worst, new bullies, confusing lockers, and even gym, kids favorite education becomes a nightmare.
The last day of school in 6th grade was nothing like elementary school. Emily had finals today, which made her angry with her teacher because it was all last minute, and she didn't have time to study. So everything she learned at the beginning of the school year is wiped from her mind into nothing.
10 more minutes until summer. She thought as she glanced at the clock. And ten more questions. She started to get sidetrack by calculating how much time she would have to answer each question equally, wasting another minute. Then she started to doze off, playing with her tied up hair, to just full out doodling on her scratch paper.
"Ok class, please hand me your papers, last 5 minutes of class is free time." Ms. Walker's voice boomed across the silent room, and everyone shot straight up like they never heard a voice in there life. Papers were passed up to her desk and then the room filled up with voices, screams , and laughter.
Emily feels horrible, knowing she didn't finish. While that stress was undergoing her mind, Joney showed up at her desk, sat down, and started smacking the bubble gum she had kept for the test. "You think you made it?" She asked, still chewing. "Nah, skip a few questions." Emily claims, but they both laugh it off like it was a joke.
"Have you heard about Jacks cousin?" She gives a little smirk. "He's going to be staying at his house, I've seen pictures, he's pretty hot." She states. Emily puts her hand over her face in embarrassment, and then starts to uncover it slowly, smiling. Joney gasps in astonishment, "Looks like you've got something for him!" She says jumping up in down. "No, he's in high school, plus I have a boyfriend." She say, looking behind her, meeting her eyes with Alex, a boy in her class, talking to other people, asking them to sign his year book."He's not your boyfriend, you just have a major crush on him." She snickered, squinting her eyes at him.
"Hey Emily! Before class is over, would you sign my year book?" Emily was startled by his voice. She turned immediately to Alex that was holding a pen in the air for her.
"S-Sure." Emily responds, bashfully. As she starts writing, the bell rang, that s when the ocean of students moved in a wave to get to the door of freedom. Alex grabbed his book and left by saying, "gotta run!" Emily wasn't finished writing her number down, and that s something she will always regret. Now it just says, "have a great summer! ~Emily 678-48"~~~
"So, where is that tree house again?" Devin asks the whole group a friends, no response from anyone. He looks around at them, "hmm?" Jack points to the left of where the're heading. They all turn at once and move forward to the hideout. Cracking sticks open and stepping on the smooth pebbles with soft moss. It felt like a blanket on Emily' s bare feet.
Joney was getting very nervous around Devin, he looked like a bad kid to her. She could imagine all of the things he could break and all of the things he would burn. But that was a big over exaggeration, Joney was known for that though. Joney normally doesn't let anyone she doesn't trust into the hideout, but Devin scares Joney half to death, so she didn't refuse when he demanded to know.
"Whoa, look!" Devin points. It was an ancient-looking well house with a few yard tools on the side, propped up against it. It had a strong pig scent that if you could smell it, it would knock you out, unconscious. "I don't think we should be here." Joney said, looking around reluctantly.
"You're right, we shouldn't." Devin said, giving and unforgettable glare. "I've heard that someone died here, many years ago, in 1894. The barn was much nicer, painted dark, navy blue. 4 kids were playing in the woods, and came across the well house. The oldest dared the youngest to go inside the well, the little boy never came out, and was never seen again." Jack didn't believe him. "That's the cheesiest story of ever heard." Jack said acting like he was not afraid, yet his hands trembled in fear.
"Guys, I really don't think we should be here." Joney still frightened by the way everything looked.
"What was that!?" Emily responded to the sound of crackling leaves. It was a creepy sound, yet it only lasted for half a second. in fright, Joney hopped on Devin back like he was a horse, ready to ride off into the horizon. Immediately, he brushed off Joney with one swing of his hand.
They all assumed that whatever was following them was behind the well house, which they still didn't know what it was. With one glimpse of the creature, they shut there eyes and covered it with there hand, and started to back away.Even Devin felt the need to run, but he acted as if nothing was scaring him.
"He he" a little girl laughed to the sound of them being petrified. "Devin, what are you doing out here?" She asked, laughing again. Devin was the first to open his eyes, because he recognized the voice quicker than the rest of them. "Avery! What are you doing!" Devin said in an instant. Everyone else had there eyes on Avery, Devin's 11 year old sister. "You can't be here, go home."
"I'm old enough! 5th grade to be exact!" She claims, crossing her arms. "No, you're still in elementary school, that's to young." Devin states his argue clearly. "You're not old enough to hand out with us. So, go play with you're Barbie dolls, or something."
Avery gets very offended by what just came out of his mouth. Anger orbiting around her mind. "I-" she pulsed, thinking of what to say next. "I'm telling!" She stormed off, into the neighborhood, they all watched until they couldn't see her any more.
They all looked back at the wretched well house. They stare art or for a moment, then out of the blue, Devin says, "Bet you wouldn't go in there". "Of course not! I want to live.: Jack responds. "OK, CHICKEN! bock bock! I'll be forced to call you chicken for the rest of your life then."
Jack learned to ignore Devin a long time ago, so they kept walking, until they reached the house. Jack was thinking about how lame Devin thought of him, and felt embarrassed that he couldn't do a simple task.
