The Adventures of Dr. Avery Chapter 1

  Chapter 1

In the vast city of Blight, there are many wonders that we could only dream. All thanks to the new energy, the "N-Gyser".

Created by scientists in 2048, the new energy was made by some crystals found in some meteorites near the plains. They contained a extreme amount of energy that not only was nature friendly, but also restored (but slowly) the nature. But the only problem with the "N-Gyser" was that there were only 2 samples.

One is kept by the government of Lightport, while the other one was used in a ghost town. The town then quickly grew, to what is now Blight City. The town's name was in honor of one kid who died in the first experiment, the project called Light Befall. The kid was the only one to die in that incident. One day he called the project, B-Light. Even if the name sounded cheesy, they actually liked it.

Blight City grew to what is now the one of the biggest cities of the world. Also it is important to recall that we are one of the most important places to the research of energy.

"Now to rush to the University", Avery thought while running to the exit.
"Sir, you can't run in the museum", the tour guide told me.

Still running, I didn't stopped at the warning of the tour lady.

"Damn it, I can't get late to this class" Avery said almost exhausted.

At last, after running the marathon, I reached the University

"Mattius, late again, well it doesn't surprise me" the Professor said.
"Three days in a row" he added.
"Well, even if you are the best of the class, that doesn't mean you can get late to classes Mattius", the Professor stated.

"Sorry, I will try to not get late" I said

"No, no, no, no... You shouldn't say, I will try. Say I will DO it", the Professor finally added.

"Better that, than fake promises", I thought to myself.



"We both know that you will get late tomorrow", added my friend, Scared Guy.
"Have hopes for me dude" Avery said in an annoyed tone.



At the House of Avery (3:12 P.M.)


Avery: Well Scared Guy, what is new
Scared Guy: Nothing, the city is not having any new events or conventions
Avery: Nothing in a week
Scared Guy: Absolutely nothing...
Avery: Well, I can continue my project
Scared Guy: That "HoverBoard"
Avery: Yes
Scared Guy: But, we have already the "MagCars"
Avery: But do they work without the "N-Gyser" energy
Scared Guy: Good point there
Avery: Well now im gonna work so go out


Scared Guy goes out of Avery's Home


"I must get home, but first... "PIZZAAAA", Scared Guy screamed in joy.


Meanwhile at Avery's Home (3:32 P.M.)

Avery: Sometimes Scared Guy can be a little stupid and instinctive, but like they say, opposite are always attracted.


At Frank's Pizza (3:35 P.M.)


Scared Guy: Well, nothing can compare to a good pizza of pepperoni


Outside, there is a strange car, parking in front of the pizzeria, with two strange guys inside


Scared Guy: Not my problem

Exiting the store, Scared Guy went to the park, as part of his routine, little he knew of that he will learn in there will do to the future of the universe...

"At last, some fresh air" Scared Guy pondered to himself
"Now to train the legs" he said, just before starting jogging (4:55 P.M.)


After jogging (5:45 P.M.), he was walking, we saw a woman being threatened by a man

"Two options, be hero, or be a normal guy" Scared Guy contemplate


"BE A HEROOOO" Scared Guy shouted while charging at the man

At a swift movement, the man pulled his knife and made a deep cut to the arm of Scared Guy, but using his other hand, he pulled the gun Q-Shot, and shoot him.
Quickly the fell to the ground, shaking, and Scared Guy was excited for the win.

But then he felt an electrifying sensation, and passed out. The woman then proceeded to rob both of them and ran away. After he regained consciousness, he noticed that his gun was not with him, and that both, the woman were not with him. The man was still unconscious, he understood that he was robbed by the woman, and that the man also was robbed.

After calling the police, and getting attended by the paramedics, Scared Guy left the park, and rushed to Avery's house to tell him of the incident. It was already night.


At Avery's House (8:40 P.M.)


Avery: Hey, what happened, you never miss the show of Mutant Trucks
Scared Guy: Do you remember that gun you gave me for self-defense
Avery: Do you lose it
Scared Guy: Yes, but it was for a good reason

After Explaining all the incident

Scared Guy: And that's all what happened
Avery: (In a serious tone) Call me paranoiac, but I knew one day this will happen

Scared Guy: What...

Avery: I installed a bomb device that if you didn't get here before midnight, the gun will explode. It was to see if you could be a responsible for one of my inventions.

Scared Guy: (In a disappointed tone) What a nice trust do you have on me

Avery: (Completely angry) It is not trust, is that if just ONE of my devices gets to the hands of the government, they will get me, and seize my whole inventions. Not to also consider that I have one of the most advanced investigations of alternate energy. Just one error, and my researches will be used by the most dangerous people on Earth.

Scared Guy: (Pissed off) Well, then why giving me a invention to start with.

Avery: (Calmed down) The world outside has always the advantage, and will always have it. That gun is just my help for you not to be in disadvantage.
Scared Guy: (Calmed Down) Thanks for the gift anyways


After the discussion, Avery went to the kitchen to prepare the dinner, Scared Guy was a little angry at Avery for the distrust, but then understood that he was right, so he went to the kitchen and said...

Scared Guy: I am sorry

Avery: You should be

Scared Guy: What an asshole

Avery: What you expected, a hug

Scared Guy: I'm off

After apologizing, Scared Guy went to sleep, pissed off, but not disappointed

Unknown Place


Mysterious Man: The first armor is complete, with its systems fully operational.
Mysterious Guy: (With a tone of authority) What with the problems with the cartridges.
Mysterious Man: The cartridges were upgraded, now they can withstand the acid.
Mysterious Guy: (Still with the same tone) Well, when we can start the testing?
Mysterious Man: We can start the testing in less than a week.
Mysterious Guy: (Still in the same tone) Well, let start the first testing in the field before starting in the city. How are the other armors.
Mysterious Guy: The other armors are still in development, but we can confirm that another armor is ready for testing.
Mysterious Man: Then, can we say that the "New Insurgent" program can start.
Mysterious Guy: Yes, it can.
