Laurens POV-

I had slept well. A lot of cleaning was still there to be finished, but I was too lazy to work on anything right now. Well, almost anything.

I hopped out of bed. I had fallen asleep in my clothes, so there was really no need to change. Grabbing my sketching journal, I ran to where one of my pet turtles, Alex, slept. At the sight of him, I immediately thought of Alex, and his new boyfriend. It made me a little sad, but I was ecstatic to draw. My hands itched for a quill.

I spent about twenty minutes searching for a stupid quill in my mess of a house. Eventually I found one, put it on my desk, and got some ink.

The stench of ink and parchment flooded my senses as I opened the book, something I had grown accustomed to by now. I sat back down, ready to start. I had gotten to about half the shell when I felt something strange.

I ignored it at first, thinking it was just my lack of water. So, I got up and found some water, and took a few sips. I felt better, but still weird. I just went back inside.

I had finished the shell when it really set in. I had to cough so bad! But I couldn't risk it, and ruin the art.

I couldn't take it anymore. I had to cough! So, I put down the quill safely in the inkwell and covered my face with my arm, and coughed.

But it didn't stop there.

No, I coughed for a straight five minutes until I started to feel it go away. Something red had spilled onto my sketch. Hoping it wasn't blood, I took a closer look. Nope, that wasn't blood.

They were flower petals.

"Oh shi-" I was cut off by another coughing fit.
