The young man arrived at home, feeling extra energetic. He didn't know if it was the drink that was given to him or that he rested for a while before carrying all the bags.
Or probably that man's smiles that he received so much.
"Oh. My Jihoonie is looking a little happier~" His grandmother teased him as he placed down the groceries on the table. Jihoon just shook off the thoughts and pulled out something from the bags, "I bought us some instant Tteokbokki!"
Adored by his actions, his grandmother gave him a toothless smile as she eyed his delighted grandson. "That happiness isn't just that you bought us something. Tell me, what happened and why is there an empty cup in the groceries?"
Jihoon's eyes widen as he heard what his grandmother said then he looked back at the bags. "Ah right. I just bought something from that new café and I'd say they've got great drinks."
Lies.
Of course he wouldn't tell the true story, knowing his grandmother cares for him like his own son that maybe when she hears that Jihoon took an offered drink from a stranger, he might end up drinking a lot of anti-food poisoning pills.
"Oh, you've seen Jeonghan then?"
"Jeonghan? Yoon Jeonghan, like Jeonghan hyung?"
"You didn't see him there? He works there to pay his rents."
The young man gulped and just smiled, "Ah no. He wasn't the one who served me." He managed to say and adding a small chuckle after. His grandmother just shurgged then proceeded to receive the instant tteokbokki pack.
Jihoon started to put the groceries in their places, leaving the cup on the table standing still and no dents were visible. His grandmother walked by to help but noticed the name on the cup. She couldn't help but just smiled as she was placing the groceries. Jihoon, on the other hand, was also noticeably smiling and perhaps, in his mind was the name 'K. Edward.'
---
Jihoon jumps his whole body on his fluffy bed, slowly closing his eyes of tiredness. It's already 7pm but his parents and Seokmin weren't home yet. He just finished cleaning up downstairs and his room after studying for his exams so, he laid on his bed.
As he tried to breakdown what happened the whole day, he immediately opened his eyes and stood up as he remembered about the cup.
"Oh shit, where did I last put it-- Oh my god, grandma." He mumbled these words until he got down the stairs.
Jihoon walked to the dinning room as fast as he can, looking for that empty cup. To think about it, why does he need that thing anyway?
But nevertheless, he still searched for it. The table was completely empty and so he probably placed it somewhere on the counters but there was none.
The young man went to the kitchen but visibly, there was no cup. Jihoon felt his heart pounding in fear. Why is he even looking for it like it was something important? As long as he remembered the name, it's alright. What's with the cup that he fears losing it?
"Are you perhaps looking for this?"
Jihoon turned around to see his grandmother on the couch, staring at the cup he was looking for with the television opened.
He bit his lower lip and smiled, "Yeah." He slowly walked over to her and grabbed the cup.
She let out a low giggle, looking her flustered grandson as he sat down beside her. "So, who is this K. Edward?" She asked, teasing him with her voice and eyes.
Jihoon shrugged his shoulders, "It's me, not really but I just ordered with that name."
"Okay, keep your secrets then, young man. When the time comes," His grandmother joked.
"I promise you grandma, it's just me."
Still pretending not to hear him, she sung, "Oh, my little Jihoonie's got a little lover~"
To which Jihoon sang back with, "Grandma, no~ Listen to me."
"It's okay, dearie. Grandma is getting old and so you are."
At this point, Jihoon is about to burst into tears as she continues to disbelieve him. "You know that I don't keep secrets from you."
Then, there was a knock from the front door which brought their attention. Grandmother Lee gave him a small smile, "I won't tell your parents, it's okay." She said, patting his head.
Jihoon sighed and just went to open the front door. "Hi Mom, Dad and Min." He greeted them with a smile.
"Good evening to you too." His mother replied then placed a gentle kiss on his soft hair.
"You are never going to believe what happened to today!" Seokmin excitedly said that made Jihoon's smile wider.
"You're never gonna guess mine too."
Mr. Lee then faked a cough that brought everyone's attention. "Save that talk for later. I texted mother to not cook anything tonight since we're going out to, of course, celebrate you two finally going to the same college after so many years of planning."
The two young men became even happier and more excited with the new.
"Now go change clothes. Wear something decent, please boys."
