Silence.

There has only been silence since I first awoke. I didn't feel like getting up off the cold stone floor that I happened to be laying on, it felt comforting to feel the ground beneath me. After a few minutes, I finally heard something, footsteps. The footsteps progressively getting louder, meaning that it obviously was coming to my direction.

"Huh ho~ Another child has opened the gate it seems. Though it doesn't seem to be moving from the ground so it must be dead. That's a shame." I finally open my eyes to see a rabbit staring down at me.

"Oh~ So the small child is alive. Why don't you get off the floor, will you?" The Rabbit mentioned, teasingly. "My name is Headon. I'm the guardian of the first floor of the tower. What is your name Ms. small child?" He said looking down at me. I finally decided to use the legs I have to get up off the ground and face the strange, "Headon". Patting the dust off, I finally decide to answer the rabbit. "I am (Y/n). I am here to climb the tower." I state. Tower? That response seemed almost somewhat automatic.

"Very well then Ms. (Y/n). In order to climb the tower, you must prove yourself by completing a test. Once the test has been completed, you may go up to the next floor and do the next tests. So in other words, if Ms. (Y/n) wants to go up to the next floor, she must complete my test." He then taps his staff against the wall and the room rumbles. The once rocky wall soon disappears, uncovering a large cage of where it once stood.

However, it wasn't the cage that caught (Y/n)'s attention, it was what was inside the cage. Some sort of, ball? And a large eel too?

"This is the first test, also known as -- 'The Ball '. It is a simple test where all you have to do is pop that round, human-sized sphere. The ball shall pop if you hit it hard enough." He smirked again, pointing at the ball in the centre before continuing.

"To pass the test the rules are simple. You, Ms. (Y/n), needs to go inside the cage and either outrun or defeated that monster and pop the ball. By doing so, Ms. (Y/n) shall move onto the next test." Headon announced, spreading his arms out gloriously and twirling his staff.

'Wait- Monster?' I looked back at the eel, it seemed to stare back right into my very soul.

"As you can see there is the monster inside the cage. This species is usually docile and harmless. However, this time of year is his spawning season and he hasn't eaten anything in a few months so he is very aggressive at the moment." He chuckled.

"You must be afraid, after all, taking the test is pretty much suicidal. As the eel is very fast, you wouldn't be able to outrun it."

(Y/n) walks towards the bars, seemingly not frightened. Headon sighs, "Wait, I may as well give you a pocket if you are going to be doing the test after all, here. Some people dropped this pocket before, so you may as well have it." Headon hands (Y/n) an A-Rank pocket. When (Y/n) touched it, it unravelled and the sphere started to float.

[ ITEM ACQUIRED! A-RANK POCKET ]

(Y/n) jumped at the sudden notification. Was this the result of the so called, pocket? She didn't know.

"It will help you speak to people who speak different languages. You can make it visible and invisible by just saying 'visible' or 'invisible'." The rabbit explained.

(Y/n) looks up at Headon and gave him the smile of an angel. "Thank you very much!" She purely cheered. And then makes her way into the cage.

'This girl has such a pure soul... it's like she's never seen anything bad before.' Headon thinks, amazed by her sudden personality change. He then released that she entered the cage without a weapon. 'Oh. Well, rest in peace pure soul. It seems you die here today. Hh, she was too pure for this world anyway..." Headon sighs in his mind.

(Y/n) stares at the eel and the eel stares back. After a long staring contest, (Y/n) decides to say something.

"You are the most cutest eel I have ever seen!!" She exclaims brightly and turns to face Headon once again. "Oh Mr Rabbit, may I please keep him? I promise I'll take good care of him!" (Y/n) pleaded.

'There she goes, rest in peace, small girl. You should never turn your back on an opponent.' He thinks, once again expecting the giant eel to eat her there and then. After a while, he sees that the eel is not attacking her and then realises what she said.

"You're... not scared of it?" He asks.

"No way! Why would I be?? Its so friendly!" (Y/n) starts to pat it, somehow the monster seems to enjoy the small female, almost as if it wants to protect it.

"So can I keep it??"

Headon is dumbfounded. "Whatever floats your boat Ms. (Y/n)..." Truth be told, Headon couldn't bring himself to say no to the small girl.

"Yay! I'm gonna name you Marlo!" (Y/n) smiled, as if sparkling.

[ FRIEND ACQUIRED! (Y/N)'s GREAT SHINSU EEL, "MARLO"  ]

The giant monster eel, now 'Marlo' happily swims around the girl. Marlo stops and looks at the girl, then lowers his head so the small girl could climb on. She climbs on happily and Marlo feels a new sense of pride, wanting to protect the small girl from any dangers.

"Oh! That's right! Marlo, can you please pop that ball for me?" (Y/n) politely asks.

The giant eel carefully swims over to the ball, making sure the girl won't fall off. Marlo opens his mouth and bites the ball, popping it with his sharp tooth. Soon the girl and eel disappear into the ball and move onto the next level.

In the midst of all that's happened, Headon stares at the spot they once were at, stunned.

"Great...Now I have released two monsters into the tower."
