Jaden's POV:
I tap the tune of the song 'Life Is a Highway' by Rascall Flats onto the steering wheel. I was on my way home from the grocer's, and I was in a impeccably good mood. I had been these last few weeks.
It's been a few months since the incident. Zachary, the Crew, and myself had gone through a lot. Between Zach's father's psychotic betrayal and the discovery of some pretty badass powers, it was nice to be able to unwind a bit. But we had still been pretty busy. After the episode, we all booked the first plane home. With Zach's pack temporarily Alpha-less, chaos had run amuck. But all it took was a snap of fingers from Zach and his patented 'you-fuckers-the-fuck-is-going-on' face to pull everyone back into some sort of order.
They all looked lost. Zach was still underage, what was going to happen? Then Zach surprised even me by declaring me Alpha of the Black Lotus Pack. He clarified the fact that, yes, there will be two Alpha's instead of a Luna. But I have a slightly higher level because I'm older. Basically we both make decisions, but I supervise the pack personally on some issues.
Zach had come to me asking if he could take my last name. We've decided not to get married, but Zach's biological last name still made him cringe. I told him I really didn't have one, either. So after a bit of research, we decided on the last name 'Styrke', which is strength in Danish. Zach had fallen in love with it, because of it's meaning, language, and how it kind of matched my original appearance in nationality. So Styrke it was. After pulling a few strings here and there with the Council, we both had new birth certificates, driver's licenses, passports, and social security numbers under that name.
After a bit of practice, Zach and I learned how to cover our altered appearances. I now am back to my blue eyes (though darker than my original by a small bit), and Zach's eyes are now a cobalt blue. His hair is still silver, though. He decided he liked it that way.
Zach and I had stormed the Silver Nova 's metaphorical gates, demanding to be let in. My step-mother had still looked at me with contempt.
"What the fuck are you doing here, miscreant?"
I had ignored her, walking right by. When she grabbed for me, Zach had snarled in her face.
"Don't touch my mate, bitch. I will sick the Black Lotus on you so fucking fast your fake-ass diamonds will shatter."
She had paled considerably, stepping back. I never knew how he did that. To me it always looked like a kitten trying to scratch you. Must be a mate thing. We had packed up some of my things before running into the other two pieces of shit. My dad and his fake heir.
"Where are you going?"
"None of your fucking business."
"Zach. He's right, it is none of your business, but I have to get back to my pack."
"Your pack?"
"My pack. Where everyone knows everything and there are no secrets."
His eyes narrowed.
"And this pack is?"
Zach looked murderous.
"It's the Black Lotus Pack, asshat. You better stop being so condescending, because you're talking to the two most powerful Alpha's of the most power pack in the United-fucking-States."
A small breeze had kicked in, but I knew better. I grabbed his hand, running my thumb over his knuckles. The wind stopped, but he still looked ready to claw out someone's eyes at the nearest moment.
After that little outburst, people parted for us like the Red Sea. A few stragglers slinked up to us, mostly families, asking if they could join our pack. After a brief glance, we agreed, and Zach and I led a percussion of cars the next week to our newly expanded territory, much to the dismay of my dad and his bitch of a wife.
Cristina is now Head Keeper, and trains younger ones in the lost arts. Her promotion was an incredibly celebratory event, and the BBQ was a success, though some got too drunk and proceeded to play drunken karaoke.
I pulled into the winding driveway of Zach's and I's private home. It's a two-story mixture of everything we love, with plush carpets and state-of-the-art appliances for Zach, and a wooden balcony and comfy leather furniture for myself. There are a few extra bedrooms for visitors, which we have fairly often, but have recently received in bulk the last few weeks.
I parked the Excursion in the garage, and within a few moments some of the Crew were out to help unload the groceries.
Matt looked at me warily.
"I hope for your sake you got it."
"I got it, don't worry."
As we packed the groceries into the kitchen, I took out a separate bag and made my way upstairs. I opened the door to our bedroom, smiling fondly at the adorable sight my mate made. He was wrapped in his favourite blue blanket, and was seemingly entranced by the movie he was watching. He looked over at me, and squealed.
"Jay!"
"Yes, that would be me."
His gaze drifted from me to the bag I was holding, and he perked up.
"That would be-"
"Butterscotch ice-cream, Hershey's caramel sauce, and three packs of Oreo Cakesters. Your usual, love."
"Yay! Gimme!"
I trotted over to the bed, handing him the bag. He immediately ripped open the ice-cream, dropped a pack of the Oreos in, and covered the whole thing with caramel. Under normal circumstances I would be terrified the sheets would get sticky, but these weren't...normal circumstances.
Somehow, my Zach is pregnant.
He claims from his conversations with the Goddess that our magic is to be passed down and fine tuned as a sort of protector of the world. At first, I paled at the thought of our child putting themselves in danger that way, but Zach convinced me that they'd be extraordinary, and that the world needs extraordinary people. I reluctantly agreed.
So now my Zach is twenty-eight weeks pregnant, and the preparations are underway. The room right next to ours will be the nursery, and we've decided we want to wait to see the gender of the baby. So the nursery is being painted a soothing pale green colour, and the furniture is all the same cream painted oak. Gender neutral clothing is in the dresser. When they're born, we'll go shopping for gender specific outfits.
I climbed next to Zach on the bed, placing my hand on the baby bump. It almost brought tears to my eyes, the fact that our love had made something so innocent and wonderful. He placed his hand over mine, and leaned in for a kiss, which I happily gave. We then continued to watch the movie, Zach dozing off against my chest a few minutes later. I pressed a kiss to the top of his head. Everything I wanted, and didn't know I wanted, I received.
My life is miraculously, magnificently, exceptionally wondrous.
It's perfect.

AND DONE.
That concludes Zach and Jaden's epic tale. BUT. Be on the look out for part one of the sequel:
-Wonder Child-
It tells the story of their child, learning how to deal with her history, the power passed down to her, and her new status of world protector. All while still trying to get the hell out of high school.
