There was a lot that happened in the last hour and a half, but being able to magic water was the weirdest part. Being told I was adopted? Sure, that kinda sucks, but I can eventually get over it. Being attacked? There have been a bit more break ins than usual lately, so it wasn't unheard of. Magic portals? Never heard of that before, but there are some explanations. Can't think of any, but there probably are. Being able to magic water? WhAt tHe hEll.

"Oh, cool" I hear Justin say, floating the forks and knives in the air. "Guess I can do this now"

Brianna then solemnly walks up to me. She puts a hand on my shoulder and looks at me with sad eyes. "Congratulations" she says, finally

breaking character and grinning a bit "You have the tragic backstory™"

"Thanks for that" I say, brushing her hand of my shoulder. We all head up to our rooms, not really talking, because what could be said? Mum's gone, some people attacked us, and we're probably going to get kicked out of our house. Although I'm not entirely sure why we started packing, but we packed our stuff. I guess it was because we'll get kicked out.

I finish packing first, and I head downstairs into the living room. On the wall was one of the glowy portal things. I stare into it. It's like looking into water. I could see whatever was on the other side, which was a lot of trees. I also see myself. My green eyes look dead, and my dirty blond hair, despite still being in my classic low ponytail, was messed up from the fight. There's a bit of spaghetti sauce on my freckled cheek, but other than that I look relatively what I usually look like.

Brianna and Justin come down around the same time and I can't help but notice that they do look more like each other and me. They both have brown eyes, and dark hair. Brianna's hair much more curly than Justin's though. Despite the fact that Brianna was darker than Justin they were definitely siblings.

"Hey, guys" I start pointing to the portal. "There's a magical portal in the living room. Wasn't sure if it was important though"

"Of course it's important!" Justin exclaims, rushing over to the portal. He starts examining it, looking all over as if to determine if it was really there.

"Maybe we should call the police" I suggested, looking over at the portal, and our now-ruined kitchen.

"Oh yeah, cause that's a GrEAT idea" He responded, turning around looking at me sarcastically "Just call up the police like, 'Hey, uh-we were attacked by some shadow-cloak men, and our mom was taken, but don't worry! We fought them off with magical superpowers, and now there's a portal in our living room' Cause OF COURSE that's the smart thing to do"

"You don't have to be so mean about it" I respond looking at him with fake hatred. "Also what are we going to about the portal"

"Go through it" He responded, putting his hands on his hips, and looking at the portal.

"But it might be dangerous" I protest.

"Good point" Justin said. "Brianna, can you come here for a moment?" He asked, as Brianna had wandered into the kitchen while we were talking. Brianna came over.

"Yeah?" she asked, standing beside Justin. He pushed her into the portal.
