Phidias

Many of you might ask who is Phidias or what I never heard of it. Phidias is a famous sculptor. He made statues all around greece when is was once on this world. Your probably thinking, come on now, where's the fun or interesting part. Will there is some really cool and interesting facts about this person, but you're already listening to me, so why not keep on listening right?

Yes Phidias was a statue builder, but he was most famous of that because of what he used in the statues. What he used is now hard to find and can make some people rich. He used gold, ivory and marble to build the beautiful statues that all sow in greek.

One of the statues that Phidias made was Athena Parthenos. This statue is 35 ft tall and some of the metals that was used in this will known statue is gold and ivory. Some even say that the statue is being watched by 20 different gods and there was 2 copies made of it. which of the copies were made out of marble.

Another fact that was found, is another one of his wonderful will built statues, which was known as the god Zeus. Zeus was also made out of the same metals as Athena Parthenos, which was once again gold and ivory. Zeus is just 8 ft taller than the other statue we heard about, which would make this piece of art 43 ft tall.

The last 2 facts that you will here is, how he died and one thing that was going on at the time he was alive. Phidias death is unknown cause so many people say he died for different stuff by different people. Plus that one fact about what was going on at that time was greece allies, were trying to defend against persia.
