Does Bumblestripe still love me? Dovewing thought. She was carrying moss for the nursery in her jaws and she was pacing with Foxleap. 

"Hey Foxleap." Dovewing said, blushing. Foxleap tensed and Dovewing felt sad that he thought what she was going to say.

"Can you ask Bumblestripe if e still loves me? I know what your thinking, but we're still best friends." Dovewing asked Foxleap. A sad look flickered over his face but he nodded and leaped over to Bumblestripe who was at the fresh-kill pile with Rosepetal.

"Dovewing!" Dovewing turned around and Bumblestripe padded over. 

"What makes you think I don't love you? Of course I do!" Bumblestripe purred, twining his tail with hers. 

"Well, you don't talk to me that often anymore." Dovewing said, looking down at her paws.

"That's because Millie is making me bring food to Brairlight and helping more often. Don't know why." He said. Dovewing smiled.

"Hey Dovewing, wanna be mates?" Bumblestripe asked shyly.

"I thought you'd never ask!" Dovewing said happily and pounced on Bumblestripe playfully.
