Words couldn't describe the pain Dovewing was suffering. Dovewing heaved as a she-cat kit slithered out under her tail. Dovewing immediately started licking the kit.
"The kit is golden!" Bumblestripe gasped as the golden kit mewed and crawled toward the smell of milk. It suckled on a teat.
"Let's name her Goldenkit." Dovewing murmured before gasping and another kit slithered onto the moss. It was a grey color and had dark grey patches.
"It's another she-cat. Let's name her Silkkit. She's so silky." Bumblestripe said. Dovewing nodded.
"There's still 2 more in there." Jayfeather said, running his paw over her belly. Dovewing pushed again and pain struck her like lightning as another she-cat kit slithered onto the moss, followed by a slender tom.
"Let's name the tom Snakekit. He's skinny like a snake. I bet he'll be a good warrior." Dovewing said as she licked each kit vigorously.
"And let's name the she-cat Berrykit. She has little dark berry spots on her flank." Bumblestripe said, helping Dovewing lick the kits. The kits mewed and quieted as they started to suckle the milk from Dovewing. Bumblestripe had to leave the nursery and he padded to the warriors den.
He curled up on his nest and fell asleep.
