I walked into the kitchen to make breakfast, only to see my mum already up and making food.
"mum, what are you doing up already?" I asked. She hasn't gotten up early since my dad's death. She looked up at me, a small smile on her face.
"I felt bad for not being there for your first day at High School. I wanted to make up for that today." I was surprised at her words, she is either too busy with her work or too depressed to pay much attention to me. I understand why, and I don't resent her for it, I'm just fine on my own.
"Oh okay" I muttered, hiding a smile, "you don't have to though" I added.
"I want to Yoona" her voice was soft.
She continued to make breakfast and put it on the table, we sat down to eat.
"I've been really distant lately and I'm sorry about that. But now that we are here in this new house, I will make sure to spend more time with you. I've missed you" she said with a bright smile on her face. I nodded wanting nothing more, "thank you" I beamed, we had a good conversation after that, something that hasn't happened in a while.
We heard a knock at the door, I smiled when I heard Mark call out "Yoona? Are you ready to go?" After hearing his voice I glanced over to my mum, her eyes held confusion and doubt "Yoona. Who is that?" She sounded serious,
"uh it's just my friend, Mark. We are going to walk to school together" I mumbled.
"Yoona" she hissed, her voice full of warning.
"I'm sorry mum but I have to go, we can talk about this later okay" I stated. I stood up from my chair and got my stuff and went to the door. I threw a look back at my mum I called out "bye see you soon!" And left the house to meet Mark.
Seo Heejin POV
While I was talking with my daughter, we heard a knock at the door. Someone called out "Yoona? Are you ready to go?" I've heard that voice before. But where? Suddenly it came to me. That voice... It's his voice. My head spun with unwanted memories, ones that I've spent years trying to forget. It's him like I'd ever forget my mum's vampire friend... He's the reason everything bad in my life happened. If it is him I have to warn her. She can't spend time with him. It's too dangerous. I asked her who it is. She answered saying that his name is Mark. Mark? But that's his name, oh no this can't be happening "Yoona" I warned, she brushed me off saying we could talk later. She left with Mark.
I looked out the window and saw them walking together. So it is him. This is bad I can't let this happen. I won't let this happen. I thought we would be safe here. I just want this to be over...
Yoona POV
As I walked out of the door, I stumbled walking right into Mark. "Why are you standing so close?" I looked at the ground blushing a little. "Is it weird to say I missed you?" He whispered ignoring my question. "I couldn't fall asleep because I was thinking about you." I looked up at him, he seemed as if the words he just spoke was merely a common fact, on the other hand, I was as red as a tomato. I coughed shaking my head "W-well I had a perfect sleep" Mark smiled, nodding slightly. "Are you ready?" I rolled my eyes at the confident expression on his annoyingly perfect face. He could clearly see the flush on my face.
"Y-Yeahh" I have to stop stuttering. He grabbed my hand and pulled me down the path leading to the school. "You know that I just met you a few days ago?, but you act like my boyfriend," I remarked feeling a bit braver. "Would that really be a bad thing?" Mark looked at me from the side. "Umm I-I umm" I gulped looking down at my hands.
"We should probably go" I whispered, now looking at the ground. Mark started to laugh. His laugh is so adorable! The sound of it made my heart flutter.
