Odyssey of a jar
.
I lock my love in a jar,
letting it float with the ocean
like driftwood.
Rocks and cliffs carve it
into opal glass,
but never do they
shatter its fragile surface.
My love is spinning with the tide,
checklessly drawn to
that beacon in the night.
Waves and storms threaten
to toss it off the path,
but Polaris sheds a light
upon its destination.
And so my jar will float
until tender hands
pull it out of the depths.
.
Will you free my love?
Will you guide it home?
Or do you throw it back
into the sea,
like the others did before?
.
- Farewell.
