The Alpha's Damaged Mate

Chapter 6: "Fragile Mirror About To Crack."

Third Person POV 

Alpha Daniel walks in as he hears about his sisters condition and why it happened. He should've never let Haven go to school after last night. Andrew's wolf kept yelling at him for being so careless of his little sister. 

Daniel's wolf always looked out for Haven when she was little. There was only a little bit age difference by months, but he treated her like a fragile mirror about to crack any second. And telling her about mom's death was the hardest thing ever, especially after seeing what  Haven did to herself. 

Haven stopped celebrating that day, and always looked down. Even though she put on a fake facade for the pack, he always saw through it. 

Daniel walked holding Harley's hand tightly. Harley's touch was the only thing keeping Daniel from burning this house down. He found Harley the day they came to the party. Daniel is literally obsessed with her now. He can't take his eyes off her, she's his world. 

"Calm down a bit Daniel. Don't take your anger out yet. Your sister's sick. Think of her first," Hayley softly said to him, calming him down the slightest bit. He sighed and nodded. Right as he came in, Abby jumped to attack Andrew. 

She couldn't believe anyone can do that. Abby never liked anyone except her three best friends. She didn't associate herself with anyone unless they did anything to her friends. Especially after the 'incident' that happened to her years ago. It left a permanent scar in her mind. And this son of a bitch caused all the pain to her. 

Abby growled and went to go tackle him but got held back, hating that she felt sparks when Zander held her back. Her wolf howled in anger. Abby's wolf was just like her. She wanted no mate, protect her friends, and family. Abby is the leader warrior wolf of the pack and for some reason, she doesn't get affected by an Alphas command or tone. 

Abby's body calmed down for a bit but she kept going for Andrew, struggling to get out of her mates hold. But he held her back, obviously having more power than her since he was a beta. She kept struggling but then gave up, scowling at Andrew. She reminded herself to train more. 

Lily just sat there, in the corner of the room, just staring at Haven. How could one do this to there mate? What if it's gonna happen to her? It's as if Tristan can hear her thoughts and he sits next to her and wraps his arms around her and assures her that she won't be going through any heartbreak. 

Lily stiffens a bit but then hugs back. Tristan's breathes her scent in and relaxes, resting his head on her shoulder. She runs her hand through Tristan's hair and his wolf purrs in delight.

Daniel just silently walked over to Haven, anger present on his face. Harley looked around the room to see the new faces. She's had seen Alpha Andrew, Beta's Tristan and Zander, and she's seen Third Jayson before. They were from her old pack. 

Haven's POV

I woke up to a blinding light and I covered my eyes instinctively. After a few seconds, I blink and my eyes, trying to focus. I weakly sit up and look at my surroundings. Many familiar faces around the room. I saw Lily sleeping against Tristan, I recognize the twin from the party yesterday. 

Speaking of twins, I see his other twin, Zander, who has his arms wrapped around Abby whose leaning on his chest, sound asleep. And Sam was sleeping on a love couch with her legs on the lap of an unknown guy. 

I heard hushed tones and whispers coming from out the door, but I ignored it. There was only one face left. It was a face I've never seen. I  observed him for a second. He looked so cute sleeping while sitting on a plastic chair. His neat brown hair so silky that I just wanna mess it up and then brush it all over again. 

What the Hell?! Do you hear yourself right now?!

I snapped out of my daze when I heard the door open, and in walked my brother and a beautiful blonde haired girl walking behind. His eyes meet mine and he rushes over. 

"Havey. How're you feeling? So I need to call the doctor?" Daniel says rapidly and I shake my head and smile. He looks at me for a second, trying to read through my fake expression. A few seconds later, his face breaks out in to a smile.  

 "Havey. This is my mate and Luna, Harley. Harley this is my sister, Haven." Daniel introduced to the beautiful blonde. She was so cute and adorable with her big green eyes and short height. 

"Hi Harley, welcome to the family," I say, reaching my hand out for her to shake but she pulls in for a hug. I'm surprised at first, but then hug her back. 

"Thanks for letting me into your family," She says and I smile. She was just too cute. 

"Of course Harley. Your like my sister know," I say and pinch her cheeks. She scowls while Daniel laughs. 

"Why am I here?" I ask Daniel and he frowns, anger evident on his face. 

"Well from what I heard, it's that when-,"Daniel starts but gets cut off by a loud groan. I turn to see the one and only Abigail Danielle Smith waking up from her sleep. Her black hair was messed up and the mascara she wore was a bit messed up. Not like she cared. 

Her eyes opened and her eyes met mine. A look of relief washed her features and she walked towards me. 

"Havey. How're you feeling?" She said in a croaky voice and she put a hand on my shoulder. I know she wants to hug me, but she's not gonna do it. Abby never hugs anyone. I repeat, NEVER. 

"I'm fine. I just wanna get out of here," I said, and it was true. I hate hospitals. There isn't a specific reason, but they always get to me for some reason. Abby nodded and muttered something under her breath, while looking at Zander. 

"I'll go ask the doctor and see what he says," Abby said and walked out the door. I looked at Daniel once more, urging him to continue what he was saying.

My face twisted in disgust, disappointment, and sadness as Daniel told me why I was here. I leaned my head back and stared at the ceiling, thinking of this mess. I never thought of having a mate and now that I have one, it's kind of disappointing that he was the cause of the pain I went through. 

I closed my eyes letting the peaceful sleep overtake me. 

Why me?
