Chapter 2:
Normal pov
When Lucy entered the guild hall the next morning everyone was passed out and the whole place reeked of alcohol. Not even Mira was up yet, and that was saying something.
Lucy decided to go home and come back later so she wouldn’t get dragged down along with the others to clean the guild hall up.
Lucy’s pov
When I showed up later that day everything was clean and everyone was having a good time.
No one had even noticed my arrival. I went straight to the bar as usual. But then I realized that Mira noticed everyone that sat down except for me. I tried to get her attention so I could order but Mira was too busy talking to Lisanna and Natsu across the room.
Then Mira whispered to Wendy
“Doesn’t Lisanna and Natsu look so cute together!” Then they both squealed with delight of the thought of them as a couple. Mira used to say Natsu and I would be a cute couple, I would act as if I didn’t think about Natsu that way. But honestly I did. I liked him a lot, might even love him… No Lucy get that thought out of your head! It’s never going to happen! Then I buried my face into my elbows on the counter.
I sat like that for a while and fell asleep. I was awoken by Gajeel.
“Oi, Bunny Girl, everyone’s leaving. You better get going before you get locked in.”
I quickly wiped the drool off my chin and then stared up at Gajeel for a while, he had a confused and kind of annoyed look on his face.
“ Why you looking at me like that bunny girl?”
“Oh it’s nothing, just.. you’re the first person to acknowledge me today.” I said trying to muster up my best smile even though I was depressed.
“I can see that you look sad.” Gajeel said looking away from me “and you don’t have to smile for my sake.”
I was surprised he noticed, no one ever noticed when I was feeling this way except for Natsu.
Can the Dragon Slayers smell fear and other emotions like other animals? I’ll think about this later. I need to get home before it gets dark. Then I noticed that it was already dark and only Gajeel and I were still in the guild hall.
“Hey bunny girl, you feelin’ okay? You’ve been staring into space for 20 minutes.”
Then I noticed he had waited for me to reply.
“Come on. It’s already dark out. I’ll walk you home, Wouldn’t want something to happen to a friend.”
After that he started to walk away assuming I would follow. Then I got up and grabbed my stuff and followed Gajeel out.
Normal pov
Neither Gajeel or Lucy said anything the whole way to Lucy’s apartment. When she got to her apartment she ran to the door and unlocked it, then turned around to face Gajeel. “Thanks Gajeel for walking me home.” “Don’t mention it.” He said and walked away into the darkness of the night.
Gajeel’s pov
“Hope she doesn’t get the wrong idea, but I doubt bunny girl will, she’s smarter than she looks, anyway the only reason I walked her home was because Master Makarov asked me to keep an eye on her and I had a strange feeling like someone was watching her.” I explained to Panther-Lily when he asked why I walked her home.
“If someone was watching her, how long do you think its been going on?” Panther-Lily asked with genuine concern.
“I got the feeling when most of the guild members had already left for the night.”
“Do you think it was any of our guild members? Maybe someone was waiting to talk to her.”
“No I don’t think that was the case. But I could be wrong.”
Master must know something I don’t. I’ll asked him tomorrow at the guild.
Normal pov
The next day for Lucy was about as awful as the previous day. Once again no one even realized she was there, except for Gajeel which woke Lucy up since she fell asleep again, he told her he would walk her home again.
Lucy’s pov
When I got home and was just going to enter my apartment when Gajeel suddenly stopped me
“Wait bunny girl.” He said. I turned around
“What is it? “ I asked
“There ain’t many easy solo jobs right now, so if you want you can join me and Panther-Lily for a job” Gajeel asked.
“Sure Gajeel. When do we leave?” I asked him.
“It’s tomorrow at 8:00am. See you then”
