The bell at the top of the door chimes at the movement of being pushed open. I look up from tying my simple, black apron behind my back and catch eyes with the most attractive man I have ever seen. I begin to examine him stupidly as he starts to walk closer to me. A jaw so sharp you could shred cheese against it, luscious, pink lips that would make any girl jealous, dark, messy hair naturally placed, a single diamond stud pierce into one of his ears, muscular arms covered in various tattoos down to his wrists, oh what he could do with those arms-
Before I finished examine his gorgeousness a voice, only fit for a guy like him, brings me back into reality.
"Excuse me I was speaking to you."
shit I must have been too focused on observing him that I didn't realize he had reached the counter and asked for something.
"Lei deve essere sorda..." I heard him mutter to himself in some other language I didn't recognize. I know English of course, and I took four years of Spanish in high school, but the language he spoke was definitely neither.
(She must be deaf)
"Good morning. I'm so sorry, it's early and my brain is still half asleep," I lied. There was absolutely no way he could find out that I was completely checking him out. His facial expression didn't change a bit, the cold and serious look still remained plastered on his beautiful face. Jeez, does he not a sense a humor? Why does he look serious all the time?
"W-what can get you?" Great now I was studering and now he knows I am nervous. Why was I so nervous? He is just a costumer. I have dealt with hundreds of costumers before. So what makes him specifically so different than the others?
Ignoring my thoughts I look into his bright green eyes that have a little hint of cold flecks in them. Beginning to loose myself in his attractiveness again, but quickly snapped back into reality
"Lei mi fara ripetere me stresso." He mutters to himself again.
(She is going to make me repeat myself)
Is he talking in another language so he could insult me without me noticing?
Or is he just weird and talking to himself in some in a language he made up himself? Or is he trying to make me think that he is insulting me by speaking to me in a different language he knew I wouldn't be able to understand? Yea that must be it...I think. Cinder focus!"I need one iced skinny hazelnut macciato, sugar free syrup, extra shot, light ice, no whip."
Holy Hell! That is the most complicated coffee combination I have ever been asked to make. Do I even know how to make that? How the hell do you make that? Oh god if only Blake was here she would know how to make that. Where is she anyway? She was supposed to be here twenty minutes ago.
Suddenly I hear the back door squeaking closed and ten seconds later Blake appears with her wavy hair in a messy ponytail, her makeup done in a hurry as a streak of eyeliner smeared on her face, and her apron in hand.
"Sorry I'm late. My sister had me watch me all seven kids and the two dogs last night. She really is crazy you know. How does she expect me to take of seven kids! Ugh, you have no idea how exhausted I am, the little 6 month old, mason didn't get to sleep until after midnight and that was after two full hours of rocking and singing the same luliby and watch the same cartoon over and over again, I swear I was gonna fall asleep before he did. Of course I had to wake up five to a screaming baby and winy kids. Do you know how hard it is to get seven wild children dressed, fed and cleaned in three hours? Well little Avery decided to make a huge mess with the syrup, and of course no one bothered to clean it up. At the same time baby Mason was playing the syrup so I had to clean him in the sink because Olivia spent an hour in the bathroom doing who knows what, so all the kids were screaming and begging for her to hurry up. Then of course my sister was late picking them all up for school and daycare so I had ten whole minutes to get ready and drive over here." After finishing her rant, she poured herself a cup of strait black coffee while I laughed a little at the story she just told.
Blake's sister is a professional photographer and is happily married to rodeo star. So they don't get a lot of free time anymore, especially with seven kids. Why they even decided to have so many kids, I have no idea. I like her sister and brother in law though. Last new years eve they invited to come celebrate with them at the ranch. That was first time I have ever been to a ranch. They have all sorts of animals and so much land. The middle kids were supper excited to show me all the animals and tell me their names. I even rode a horse! That was scary... At dinner I was properly introduced to Blake's sister Haley and her husband Evan. I also met all the kids. Riley was the oldest boy at Sixteen, Olivia was the oldest girl at fourteen, Emily is twelve, the twins Nathaniel and Anothy who are nine, Avery who is five, and little baby Mason who isn't even a year old yet. I don't judge Haley and Evan for having that many children, because if it makes them happy then that is all that matters to me.
The sound of a phone ringing breaks me from my thoughts. I look over at the costumer who has walked away about twenty feet and is talking on the phone.
"Blake it's okay that you were late, just help me make this coffee order for this guy." She glanced at the random guy still talking on the phone twenty feet away and her mouth was wide open for a few seconds before breaking into a huge a smile.
"Holy hell...that is the most attractive guy I have ever seen." Just like I had done minutes ago she starts to examine his features, completely unaware that he is now off the phone and heading over to the counter again.
"Where the bloody hell is my coffee?" A chill ran down spine at the tone of his voice. He did not look to happy that his coffee wasn't made. His eyebrows were scrunched together, a frustrated wrinkle appeared on his forehead and terrifying scoul rested on his face.
"I am so sorry, I will make it right now." How am I supposed to make this coffee? I can't even remember all of it! I look over at Blake who is now taking a sip of her coffee and glaring at the guy for some reason. "Blake can you help me make this order? It's a little...complicated."
"Yes of course, what did he order?"
I had to think for moment about all the specifics of the order. I couldn't ask a customer what they wanted more than once, that would be rude. Finally I remembered.
"He ordered an iced, skinny hazelnut macciato with sugar-free syrup, an extra shot, light ice, and no whip."
Surprisingly Blake knew exactly how to make it. I watched as she gracefully moved around the coffee bar and made sure everything was measured perfectly and even put a nice smiley face on the cup when she was done making it. I will admit, Blake was more skilled at making the more complicated orders than I was. She has worked here for five years and has learned how to make pretty much anything. As for me, I just started working here last summer before I started college and the most complicated drinks I have ever made by myself was a triple chocolate latte with an extra shot and extra chocolate chips.
Once she handed the guy his coffee, he threw a twenty dollar bill on the counter and started to walk to way. Wow not even a thank you for the complicated coffee order. What a jerk! Although he did leave a really big tip. Before he left the shop, he glances back at me with his memorizing, green eyes and gave me wink with a smirk on his face.
What was that about? Did he just wink at me? Oh my god a super hot guy just winked at me! Cinder calm down! He is just some random guy. A random guy who just smirked and winked at me! But who is he? And why did I have this weird feeling I was going to see him again?
