Chapter 28

                    L E O N

     In front of me was one of Amethyst's minions. Without thinking I used magic to blast him away. He landed with a hard thud on the hallway wall behind him.

I took no chances and rushed down to the cellars. I heard some footsteps but didn't bother to look behind me.

While running I muttered a spell and a protective shield surround a crying Francis.

"Shh, baby everything will be okay. Mommy will keep you safe."

I said rushing towards the cellars even faster. When I got there I used the secret door and muttered the ancient spell that kept it hidden so I can go inside.

In a flash of magic I was brought to the other side of the wall where the room was hidden.

Inside most mothers, the elderly, and children were here.

"Leon!"

A familiar voice called out to me. I turned around and a crying Samuel and Conway were there.

"What's going on?"

I asked them. They both shook their heads.

"We were surprised attacked. I guess the war is happening as we speak."

Said Samuel who was rubbing his small bump. It was barely even noticeable but I guess his motherly instincts were kicking in.

"I wanna go help, the pixies trainer me for this!"

I said. Both of them looked at me like I was crazy.

"Vladimir would kill us if we let you out, plus what about Francis? Someone has to keep him safe."

I shook my head.

"You guys can just make sure he's alright and I'll-"

I was cut off by a giant blast. The room shook and the ceiling above us cracked. Screams from children were heard all over and chaos erupted.

"We need to get out of here!"

I said trying to get everyone together. Using my magic I created some lights and that seemed to calm everyone down.

"Everyone do not panic! We need to use the emergency exit that leads to the neighboring territory."

I said getting nods of approval.
