Chapter one

Amethyst POV 

Amethyst hit the ground running. "Crow!" she called. "Amethyst!" her little brother Crow called back. At the next turn of the maze, she saw him "Crow! I'm Here!" she called. She saw him and he saw her. then he came running up to her and choked out "The hunt has begun!" The two siblings heard a THUMP! And then another. It was getting closer. "Crow was that you?" Amethyst said sounding exhausted. "No-" Crow started to say, but he trailed off not needing to finish. An animal was stomping up to them. It looked like a sea turtle and as though it was swimming and walking at the same time. Its body was diamond, its eyes were jade and ruby, its ears, claws, and horns were obsidian, and the most noticeable part about it was its collar of amethyst, gold, and Jasper, it opened its jaws and molten silver dripped out instead of drool. Amethyst wanted to save Crow."Crow run!" said Amethyst "Run!" Before Crow could run, the beast of jewels whispered in a voice barely stirring the air, "Follow me."

Amethyst and Crow Looked at each other, silently deciding what to do. This beast could have eaten them both already, but it didn't. They both stood up, and the beast backed up. It turned around then started walking. "Follow!" it said again. And they did. At first, it seemed that it walked into a wall. Amethyst came up to the wall and slowly stuck her hand through it, then her head followed, and then her whole body. Then Crow followed. "Wow!" Amethyst breathed. The whole room she stepped into was covered from the ceiling to the floor in gems and minerals."My Mistress Coral, the new meat has arrived." The gemstone beast said. "Bring them to me." A commanding yet chilling voice said back. As they walked into the room all the gems started to shimmer from their colors to black. they saw a woman with Raven black hair with very fair skin and flaring gold eyes with a tiny fleck of copper near the irises. "Come closer to me," the woman said. "Excellent." Said the tall thin woman sitting on a throne at the end of the room said "bring them Here." the jeweled best nudged Crow and Amethyst forward to the front of the throne. "Kneel!" said Mistress Coral, The sibling's kelt. Coral got up from the throne and went over to Amethyst and Crow and walked around them "nurses take the girl to the eye room and the boy to decontamination!" Mistress Coral stated coolly. "Yes, my lady! Right away!" the nurses flocked around Amethyst and Crow "Crow" Amethyst screamed then a sharp pain in the back of her neck and the world when black.

Amethyst slowly widened her eyes. The scene before her, it was an amber room with six white beds. The back of her head still hurt, she put her fingers on the back of her neck they came away sticky with blood. "Oww!" said Amethyst softly. Standing over her was a tall black haired boy his hair and eyes looked strangely like crystal with silver streaks in his hair looking down at her and he had a small scar on top of his upper lip he was smiling. "Hello, I am Jasper the apprentice of lady Labin. I am going to prepare you for the experience." Jasper said. then poured a clear liquid into Amethyst eyes. then walked around the bed I was on to tighten the restraints holding me down. I struggled lightly against the restraints. I hear a woman's footsteps come into the small room. "Jasper is she prepared for the experience?" She said her bright ruby red hair that had streaks of Jasper white was pulled up into a tight bun. She walked over to the bed Amethyst was stuck to she and then took a silk gag and then gagged Amethyst. Then Jasper handed Labin a syringe but with no needle on it. "Jasper if you please, find a way to hold her eyes open," Labin said. Jasper nodded his head, and slowly went to the top of the bed where my head was, and pulled my eyelids back as Labin squirts the liquid into my eyes. Amethyst was met with a strong burning sensation that only got worse. It came to a point that she could no longer control her scream of anguish but the gag kept her quiet, the pain got unbearable Blackness welled and Amethyst blacked-out and Amethyst was faintly aware that she was being moved to a new room one with no crystal or beauty it was just plain with stone wall and no windows it was almost pitch black in the room. They harshly pushed her into the room shutting the door behind them. All of Amethyst screams and tears went unnoticed. In that room, time seemed to melt away until she fell asleep. Alone and in the dark.
