10th grade

jeno's pov

the school bell rings signalling the end of the day, and i couldn't be more thankful. school days seem to suck the life out of everyone, i've noticed how dead everyone looks while they walk to their buses and cars at the end of the day.

i waited in the front lobby for jaemin because we have to work on our project tonight. i knew he would take a long time, he usually takes his time at his locker after school talking to god knows who.

after fifteen minutes of waiting, jae finally shows up. he explains to me that he would have come much earlier but he forgot his umbrella in his locker and then he ran into someone from his math class who was asking for notes. i cut him off after that and told him we should probably leave now.

that's when i remember it was raining. and i forgot my umbrella.

i turn to tell jae that i am umbrellaless and he suggests that i use his.

so that's where i am right now, walking down the street, sharing an umbrella with na jaemin, and my heart is beating unusually fast for some reason.

we make it to my house in around ten minutes, my right shoulder and his left shoulder soaked from the rain. he asked me for one of my sweaters to borrow, because his was soaked, so i gave him one with our schools logo on it.

he looks really pretty in it, even though it's probably the grossest sweater i've ever seen. he always looks pretty though.

what the actual fuck brain.

after we ate our late afternoon to mid evening snack, we started our project.

the project is for music class, so we have to write a song about whatever topic we picked out of the hat and perform it for the class in a weeks time.

of course i just had to pick love. neither of us have ever experienced love, as far as i'm concerned, so how are we supposed write a whole song about love, perform it for our class and make it seem like we know what love is? in other words we are completely screwed and are most likely going to fail this project.

as soon as we get set up for the project, jae asks me a question.

"hey jeno, have you ever been in love?"

"nope. how about you?"

"i think so."

well at least one of us will know what their doing because i'm completely lost when it comes to love.

"alright so i was thinking we should start the song off like this." jaemin says and then starts singing lyrics to a song i've never heard before.

jae finish's singing, and i'm left in shock.

"jae! this is perfect! when did you write this?"

"i finished it around a week ago but i'd been working on it for a while, i just couldn't find the right words to say."

"well, you certainly found the right ones! that was the most beautiful song i've ever heard! where did you find the inspiration for it? i could never write something that deep." jae looked down for a second. it was almost like he was contemplating whether he should say something.

"i'm sure you could. you have a way with words that's very unique." jaemin responded, completely deflecting my question.

"there's no way i could do write something like that. also you didn't answer my question."

"what question?"

"come on jae! who'd you right the song about?"

"i'm afraid that's classified information my dear jeno." why must he be like this?

"jaemiiiinnn! we are best friends i deserve to know, and i promise i won't tell anyone."

"fine i'll tell you."

"yes!"

"but i'll tell you in our first day of university."

ohhh my my my ( @ troye sivan whats good?). look who it is back (finally) with another update. this is kinda of like a filler chapter that is kind of like super important to the story. but anyways, who do you guys think the songs about??
