Taurtis had never had much going on in his life. Mostly due to the fact that his best friend was a complete psychopath who scared anyone that could possibly befriend him. Even the most determined people eventually gave up after Sam pulled out his knife and death stare. Yet, new ones would soon take their place. Taurtis wasn't oblivious, he was aware that he was hot. With his dark raven hair, deep milk chocolate eyes, and tanned skin, he was the dream man of many. Not to mention that he was ripped. If not for Sam, he was sure his relationship status would have changed by now. He guessed that was just the way his life worked, doomed to be forever alone... with Sam.
He finished tying his tie and glanced over himself in the mirror. The white button-up shirt was a little tight, but it made his arms and chest look wonderful, so he never bothered to get a bigger size. As his mother would say, "Clothes are there to keep you comfy and make you look good. No matter what you wear, wear it because it makes you feel good and don't give a crap about what others think." At least she would be happy to know he listened to the 'look good' part.
"Taurtis!" Sam called from downstairs, "We're gonna be late!"
"Coming!" Taurtis called back as he stepped out of the bathroom, grabbing his backpack on his way to the hall.
"Why do you have to take so long to get ready?" Sam asked as Taurtis descended the stairs.
"Because I have to make sure I look good. I have a reputation to keep, Sam."
"A stupid one."
"What did you just say?"
"You heard me."
Taurtis gave him a glare before continuing off to school. Sam followed behind him as he walked. Out of the corner of his eye, he saw a pink flash dash across the street, "Yuki, what have we said about jaywalking?"
"That it's fun," Yuki gave a playful grin. Yuki was the only one Sam allowed close, after all, she was Taurtis's half-sister, "Anyways, did you hear the news?"
"What?" Taurtis said, half-heartedly listening.
"There's a new student, and rumor is he's pretty cute," Yuki bumped Taurtis shoulder and wiggled her eyebrows suggestively.
"Why do you think I care?" Taurtis had a small smirk on his face. Of course, he cared. It was someone new, who Sam hadn't scared away yet. It was his chance to finally date someone.
"I just thought you'd want to know, I mean, he could cause some competition."
"What do you mean?"
"I mean, he's hot. Some were even saying he's sexy."
Sam placed a hand on Taurtis's shoulder, his face stoic and serious, "If need be, I will end him for you."
"No, that's okay, Sam," Taurtis's eyes darted around the crowds of people, searching for an unfamiliar face.
"Already on the lookout, I see," Yuki teased.
"What? I'm not going to believe anything you say about this guy until I see him first. Then I can determine if he'll be a problem or not," Taurtis just wanted to know if he was really sexy or not, "Have you seen him yet?"
"Me? Nope, but Chan did send me a picture when she and Salex were shopping yesterday."
Taurtis gasped, "They went shopping without you?"
"I know, right? Urg, I can't believe them," Yuki faked a growl.
"You need to keep them in line."
"Right? It's like they forget who they're dealing with."
"So, no killing today?" They turned around to find Sam pouting while stroking his knife.
