The world is beautiful
I thought
And looked up at the sky

Little children chatter
Woman and spouse on their merry way
Man sitting on the curb
Widowed elderly solemnly stroll
Shady men rush past
Lost lady singing with her guitar case of pointless change
Closed down store, lost it all to the hype
Mom dragging her kid, no father in sight
And down the street, a cat just got hit by a truck
The world is ugly
I thought
