jack

"hailey" i whisper, lightly squeezing and shaking her thigh, attempting to awaken her, "hailey, we're back at the cabin."

her eyes begin to flutter, her body stirring in the car seat.

"im sorry i fell asleep" she frowns, unbuckling the seatbelt and attempting to get out of the vehicle. i, to the best of my ability, wrap my arms around her to keep her put.

"don't be sorry, i know you needed the sleep."

she gives me a weak smile, proceeding to exit the car and waits for me to come with her. i mirror her actions, stepping out of the car. i take her hand, walking up to the cabin doors with her slowly trailing behind me.

"jack, jack" her voice raises, excitement growing in both her eyes and in her voice. i nod towards her and she points to the sky, "look at the sunset. it's beautiful."

i stare at her for a few moments, the golden setting sun creating a breathtaking gold reflection onto her tan skin. her eyes, usually a deep brown shade, shine a beautiful light brown due to the sun.

"take a picture jack, it lasts forever."

when i am taken out of the intense gaze i had fallen into, i am met with her dark brown eyes staring up into mine.

a dry chuckle leaves my mouth, "i rather see the real thing forever, as opposed to a picture."

hailey rolls her eyes playfully, wrapping her arms around my neck to close the space between us.

"you're a dream" she stares, her voice just above a whisper.

as she speaks, my arms snake around her waist protectively.

"and you're my dream."

a smile slowly grows on her effortlessly flawless face, her eyes vigorously moving back and fourth, staring into my eyes.

we both have an idea of what exactly is about to play out, both of us not exactly wanting to deny that we don't want it.

if possible, i pull her closer to me, her head falling back slowly as she has to look up at me. i lean down, as she meets me halfway. our lips connect in pure ecstasy, as some would describe it as "seeing fireworks".

our lips move in a synchronized formation, the electricity between us ultimately indescribable. my arms remain around her waist, her hands entangling themselves in my hair.

the light breeze surrounds us, cooling us as our interaction begins to create heat. as i said, things were escalating as time went on. but, hailey pulls away suddenly.

"what's wrong? are you—" i begin to panic, not necessarily know what caused her to do such a sudden movement.

hailey chuckles, "nothing, nothing. i'm okay. i think we should go inside, though. what if they suddenly come back? we're literally on the porch, jack."

it took me a second to realize she was right, we were in front of the cabin. we had yet to even walk in. it's insane how you forget such a thing when you're infatuated with someone.

i chuckle and grab her hand, walking into the cabin once unlocking it.

"it's so cute in here, i love it" she states, continuing to look around, "i never got to look around properly the first time i came in here."

as i close the door, certainly locking it, i tilt my head in confusion, "why not?"

hailey lets out a light chuckle, "i was too busy looking at you."

"you know what i love and find cute?" i ask her, stepping closer to her.

she shakes her head, "what? lorraine's cabin?"

a smile forms on my face as i stare at her, "you." when the word rolls off my tongue, a faint shade of pink flushes hailey's cheeks.

"thank you" she smiles, "what do you want to do? im kind of tired."

as she completes her sentence, a yawn takes over her. she opens her eyes, catching me admiring her.

"do you want to go to the bed? if you fall asleep, that's okay, i knew you were tired the minute you fell asleep in the car" i state. she nods, taking my hand as i lead her to my bedroom in the cabin.

we walk in as she jumps onto the bed.

"ugh, this is the best feeling ever."

i laugh, "im sure i can make you feel better."

hailey's face turns around, looking at me, "i would say show me, but im way too tired. and anyway, this bed is the fuckin' comfiest thing, so... sorry, jack."

as she is laying down on her stomach, i lay myself beside her. today has been a pretty long day, from two hours worth of driving, plus swimming and running around on the beach. it's been a long, but fun, day.

"im going to miss seeing you everyday" hailey whispers, turning onto her left side to face me.

her words make me realize that we do attend different schools, as i am going to be attending college for some classes and she is in her last year of high school.

"as i've said, we're going to make things work, hailey. you're not like any other girl, you're special. you are what i've been waiting for" i say while stroking her side.

she nods, cuddling up to me, "i know.. im glad i've made you feel this way."

"so am i."
