Brianne and Harp took off after dropping him off at the bus stop, again, going god knows where. They were gonna meet again tonight for Nik's birthday.
Waiting for the bus stop was a pain. He can't even distract himself from his thoughts . No random facts about space tacos from Harp, or the constant barrage of questions from Brianne. It was just all him and his thoughts.
Nik grabs his necklace, impulsively.
Suddenly, As if a metaphorical switch was turned off , street lights started dimming everywhere. Car Lights were turning off. Inside a car stopped near where Nik was standing , a thump followed by a shocked yelp could be heard as the emergency airbag opened. A brief silence broke the afternoon talk, everyone was holding their breath. It only lasted for a few seconds before all the lights started turning on.
He was too preoccupied that when an old lady calls out to him his shoulders bunch up.
" it's a nice day out, isn't it ?" , the lady says, with a hissing drawl.
Oblivious as the old lady might have been to the situation at hand, she wasn't the only one to move on so quickly. A chorus of chatter was making procession in the silence, already forgetting what had just happened. Besides, It wasn't a nice day out. It was a drab friday noon. It looked like a storm was brewing. Still ,Nik says a polite " yeah" , anyways. He was still perplexed with the sudden black out, and was wondering if that even happened in the city.
"I'm gonna grab something to eat today", the lady says, still with the hissing drawl. He can't point out where the accent came from. Wherever it was, Nik wondered if the people there introduced themselves with their meal plans.
"Oh ,right, okay" .
"It's a nisse day out ,issn't it ?" , the lady says, again .
Nik looked at the old lady .His first thought , though a bit callous , was that she looked ancient. Her skin was leathery from old age , scaly even.
"Nissse day for a mheal" She says, looking at him now.
He swears that she had snake eyes. Then again,he also swore she was just a normal old lady a few minute ago, until she wasn't .
Nik was pushed aside and in the flurry of movement he catches a glimpse of fiery red hair.
