I grunted pulling the binder over my bare chest after a fight to death of finding it.
"Alex! You're going to be late!" My dad shouted down the hall to my room.
"Coming!" I tossed on a T-shirt that had a peace sign on it and some baggy jeans.
Stumbling down the hall I pulled my hair back into a bun, stopping by the hall way mirror to make sure that I collected all my hair and brushed the shaved sides of my head.
I smiled.
"Alex!"
"I'm coming!"
Leaping into the front seat of my dad's car I grinned happily.
Well my step-dads car.
My real dad died a few years ago. Than this man came into my mother's life. I was reluctant to trust him but after I told my family how I felt about my feelings of being in the wrong body my mom kicked me out and the old man dropped his wedding ring and followed after me with a bag on his shoulder and an arm around me. He's the best dad I could ask for.
"Floor it." I laughed, quickly tugging my seatbelt out and clicking it as it hugged me.
He gave a sideways glance. "Uh, no, don't do that to your car either."
"Aw, ya loser." I grinned.
"Loser?" He smirked before slamming his foot on the gas peddle before stomping on the break.
"Oh-shIT!" The seat belt held me down into the seat.
We both nervously laughed.
"Let's not..." I shifted back into the seat.
"Agreed." My dad continued driving.
We headed towards his work place which was some old hardware store. Once we pulled up, Howard ran out side to greet us.
"Ah, uh-" he looked me up and down. "-what did'ya wanna be called again kiddo?" He peered at my dad when his face covered with guilt.
"It's just Alex, don't get to worked up." I smiled at him.
Then he bear hugged me. "Ah, my boy Alex! How have ya been? Haven't seen ya since one-no-two years ago?"
"I've been at college." I gave him a goofy look and he returned it.
We started to walk back into the shop after he greeted my dad and began to do some work.
A few hours after messing around with some cars the front part of the shops door opened and the bell above it rang in the laughter and machines.
I turned, whipping my hands before actually looking up to who walked in. "Welcome, what can I do for you today?"
I plopped the small cloth down and looked up.
I was stunned.
"Hi. My car just broke down a few streets away can you help me?" Her thin lips spoke as her brows furrowed in plead. She wore a knee length summer dress with a small pastel pink purse over her shoulder. "-an you please help?"
Whoops.
"Uh, yes, yes I can help, definitly. Let me just go get the truck and I'll bring it around." I popped my thumb behind to the back of the building.
She gave a faint smile before thanking me.
I took off to the back after telling my dad the situation and sat in the truck.
Whoa.
My heart won't calm down...
I started the egnition and pulled the tow truck up to the front. She stood outside when a gust of wind blew.
Her dress fluttered elegantly in the wind followed by her luscious blonde hair.
I opened her door from the inside and she jumped in.
"Alright, ma'am, I'm gonna need some directions." I looked over to her as I pulled out and she pointed.
"Just go straight than turn left at the second intersection."
I grinned. "Alrighty."
After driving past two streets I noticed her stares.
I sighed abruptly and she jumped before quickly looking away.
"Is there something wrong?" I pulled up to a stop sign and looked at her.
She fiddled with her fingers and smiled a little. "N...no, nothing's wrong."
I stared at her in confusion.
She seems squeamish.
"You sure?" I questioned again.
She stared at me.
We're the same height.
"Whats....whats your name?" The young lady averted her eyes back to the road.
I started to shift the truck forward. "My name's Alex."
She smiled before telling the street her car was on.
It was a baby blue BMW.
And her name was Christa.
