"Father, stop!" I yelled out to the man beating my mom. He was dead drunk and his fists were bloody with her blood. He always got drunk but this was a first. He usually would cry in my mom's arms but now he was beating her face into a bloody pulp. I moved to pull him off but he tossed me aside.

I ran forward again and that is when he turned his anger onto me. He grabbed me by the neck and pushed me down onto the ground. I struggled to breathe in the grasp of his hands and my mother was too beaten up to move. I reached a weak hand up to stop him but it did nothing.

My vision turned white and I knew I was dead. I looked around and saw nothing. Was this the afterlife? A voice spoke out to me from everywhere and nowhere, "Young child of Earth, I am able to grant you a wish as you are reincarnated into the next world. Is there anything you desire?"

I was surprised. I never even thought there would be reincarnation after death let alone the ability to make a wish. Should I wish to keep my memories? Or should I wish a blessing to my next self? But it only took a second to realize my wish. I looked up at the sky and said, "I wish to be born in a caring family."

The god replied, "That is all? If that is it, I am willing to give another wish."

I was surprised. I didn't think gods could be this lax with life. I chuckled at my next wish. It was so foolish but I asked anyway, "I wish to be able to become friends with anyone. Even the greatest villain."

The god replied, "I see. Then your wishes shall be granted. Because I like you, I will allow you to keep your memories as well. I hope you become someone that will change to world."

My vision changed and I suddenly was looking up at a beautiful woman with silver blonde hair and beautiful golden eyes. As I moved I realized I was a baby again and that I truly had been reborn.
